Streb wins McGladrey, plus the rest of our PostGame report

Team California took the 2014 PGA Junior League Golf Championship with a 7-5 win over Team Georgia, which was playing in its home state in Duluth at TPC Sugarloaf.

“I am overjoyed right now and it’s been an incredible ride,” said California captain Jim Collins in a release. “I am so proud of my team and to win a national championship really puts an exclamation point on my career.”

The eight teams played three matches from Friday to Saturday, with the top teams earning the chance to represent the East or the West in the final. The eight teams made it to the PGA Junior League Golf Championship qualified by winning regional competitions.

The matches are decided based on holes won, with coaches alternating players every three holes so that each golfer plays in each match.

Team Indiana finished third after beating Tennessee 8-4. Connecticut took fourth, defeating Texas 8-4, and Iowa and New Jersey shared seventh after a 6-6 tie.

4th: Team Tennessee (Knoxville)

5th: Team Connecticut (Hartford)

6th: Team Texas (Houston)
