Have any of you looked into the effect of the daily handicap calc for the courses your play?

I’ve just found out I will get an extra 2 shots when playing off the blue (back) markers! (due to the course DSR vs par additional in the daily handicap calc).

I’ve also just worked out if I can shoot 85 OTS that will give me a played to of 9.

I’ve shot 86 OTS twice, so my goal is achievable.

    Hmmm.

By the time you realise this part of my signature doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

It will be interesting this year as the system transitions in globally.

It used to be simple. All you needed was your GA index and the slope, a quick calc and you have your playing ‘cap.

From the end of Jan, you will also need the scratch rating and the par. In addition, they have moved the 7% discount from your index to the aforementioned playing ‘cap.

I might have to knock up a little app for that.

Its going to be interesting at a club like yours OB where the ACR is 70 and Par is 72.
watch all he members sook when they have to play off 2 or 3 shots lower each week.

At Indooroopilly on Sunday the men’s white SR was 70 and the women’s red 73 so that would have seen a large difference between the impact

Yes I think we might see a lot of Bollywood celebrities handicaps go from “6” to 20 under new scheme.

Just did some calculations for Wollongong GC with my GA of 6.3. WHS daily hcp off:

    Black 9 (8.54)
    Blue 7 (6.58)
    Yellow 5 (5.39)

This makes much more sense than the “old” system where the difference between black and yellow is one shot if I remember correctly (doubtful.)
