BMW New Zealand Open Day: One hundred and twenty-two clubs now signed up

Golf clubs across the country have been on a mission to make sure they sign up for the BMW New Zealand Open Day this Saturday December 6 2014.

Currently, a total of 122 golf clubs have signed up for the nationwide event, where 100 per cent of proceeds will go to the tournament’s official charity The First Tee.

The BMW New Zealand Open Day enables golfers and clubs to be part of the National Open which will be staged from March 12 – 15 2015 at The Hills and Millbrook Resort in Queenstown.

Chief Executive of The First Tee Bill MacGowan is “thrilled” with the high numbers of clubs that have signed up.

“It’s wonderful to see that we now have 122 clubs registered to take part in what’s set to be a fantastic day.”

Monies raised for The First Tee will assist with golf-based junior programmes across New Zealand, delivered to schools, after-school and holiday programmes.

“Funds raised from the BMW New Zealand Open Day will go towards continued development of these programmes,” said Mr MacGowan.

The BMW New Zealand Open Day costs $5 to enter with great prizes on offer.

The overall winner at each club will claim two tickets to attend the BMW New Zealand Open Championship. All participants in the BMW New Zealand Open Day will go into the draw to win the ‘Ultimate Queenstown Package’.

This package includes return flights for two to Queenstown from anywhere in New Zealand (courtesy of Air New Zealand), accommodation for two nights and tickets to attend the BMW New Zealand Open.

The BMW New Zealand Open will also provide each participating golf club with two tickets to attend the championship as a thank you for hosting the Open Day.

As an additional bonus, The First Tee has announced all participating clubs which return their spreadsheets and funds raised before December 12 will also go into a draw to win a ‘meet and greet’ television tour package with golfing great, First Tee Trustee and commentator Phil Tataurangi.
