FootGolf: More players get kick out of soccer, golf combo

FootGolf is spreading to golf courses across the U.S., including Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center in Plymouth and Fellows Creek Golf Club in Canton. Both are official American FootGolf League courses.

FootGolf is a combination of golf and soccer. Instead of using a golf ball and club, a player uses his foot to kick a soccer ball. It is played by the same rules as golf, though the cups are 21 inches in diameter and the holes are shorter.

A player also must wear specific attire for AFGL events, including a collared shirt, golf shorts or pants, knee-high socks, turf or indoor soccer shoes (no cleats) and a flat cap or driver hat (the kind that old English men wear).
