As part of the build-up to this week’s SMBC Singapore Open, nearly 2,000 people attended the Discover Golf Carnival at Sentosa Golf Club.

Families and friends, golfers and non-golfers, attended the golf-themed day on The Range @ New Tanjong – one session taking place between 2 pm and 4 pm, followed by another from 4 pm to 6 pm.

One of Singapore’s top professionals Choo Tze Huang and the country’s top amateur Gregory Foo attended to give advice and there were loads of activities including: FootGolf, a Kiddy’s Golf Safari, Golf Croquet and Golf Ball Tattoo stations.

Totts Golf helped organise the afternoon along with SMBC Singapore Open promoters Lagardère Sports and the Singapore Golf Association.

The more experienced golfers were able to take part in various Skills Challenges such as: a Durian Challenge, a Bull’s Eye Target, a Goal Post Challenge, and Chip Into Bucket and Putting Challenges.

For the even more advanced players there were Power Driver and Sharp Chipper challenges.

Some of the longest queues were for the popcorn, candy floss and popsicles stands.

The tournament tees off on Thursday on the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

The event is jointly-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour Organisation.

The line-up includes reigning Masters champion Sergio Garcia, former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, PGA Tour winner Pat Perez, Ryo Ishikawa and the best of the Asian and Japan Golf Tour.
