The Orangeburg Homeboys Golf Outing Association in conjunction with the South Carolina Junior Golf Association made history Monday when the organizations kicked off the inaugural Orangeburg Youth Golf Program at Mellichamp Elementary School.

The program is the first of its kind to be installed in The T&D Region. OHGO, a golfing association dedicated to service, will use the program as a catalyst to not only teach golf, but also to mentor the Mellichamp students involved.

“This program is true to our hearts,” said Chris Scarborough, a member of OHGO. “The biggest thing we want to do is volunteer. We are blessed to be able to give back.”
