Jack Nicklaus and Keegan Bradley join judge panel for “Best Pee-Wee Golf Swing Contest.”

One of my favorite little events on the golf calendar each year is the “Best Pee-Wee Golf Swing in the World” contest. For five years now, PGA Professional Brendon Elliott has encouraged parents to videotape their little golfers taking their best cuts and submit them to a panel of celebrity golfers.
And this year, Elliott has ramped up the “celebrity” aspect of his contest – he’s added Jack Nicklaus and 2011 PGA Champion Keegan Bradley to his panel, which already includes former PGA of America President Allen Wronowski, former PGA Tour player Frank Nobilo, PGA and LPGA teaching professional Nicole Weller, top instructor Chuck Evans and Mark Bradley, a PGA Professional who is also Keegan’s dad.
The contest retains its same format. Between and now and January 9, 2015, parents can upload videos of their young golfers to YouTube and then enter the contest by clicking right here.
Scroll down that page, and you can also see the videos of last year’s winners. Some of those kids can really give the ball a ride.
Prize packages will be awarded in four age categories: Under 3, 3- and 4-year-olds, 5- and 6-year-olds, and 7- and 8-year-olds. Each prize package is valued at more than $1,000 and includes items from some of the industry’s top children’s golf apparel, equipment and training aid companies, including U.S. Kids Golf, Cleveland/Srixon, MVP Sports, Golfer’s Footprint and more.
As always, the winners will be announced at the PGA Merchandise Show at the end of January.
“In our first two years, we were very excited to have such a successful launch of what we wanted to continue to grow into an annual showcase of what very young golfers are capable of doing,” said Elliott, the founder of Little Linkster’s, LLC and Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development. “After last year, we knew we had something special, as almost 200 entries poured in from over 14 countries from around the world.”
Elliott – who is a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher (2010, ’11 and ’12), a 2013 U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Master Kids Teacher and a four-time North Florida PGA Junior Golf Leader award winner (2011-14) – started his Little Linksters golf program in Central Florida specifically for children ages 3 to 8. The program is taught in a fun and interactive way, using both traditional and non-traditional instructional methods.
The Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, a 501c3 nonprofit in conjunction with AAU, continues to develop its national effort enable teaching professionals from across the country to grow their business and the game of golf with a proven program that combines a child-friendly approach, a complete program curriculum, and uses items from some of the industry’s best training aid and junior golf equipment companies.Click for full story and source
