Kenyan golfers think golf is ‘easy’ because of Tiger Woods

I read a lot of information and news about golf. Blogs, magazines, newspaper articles and longform stories on the Internet, but nothing this week has intrigued me as much as what Jeff Mwangi told Golf Digest on Friday.

Mwangi is also a reader of golf things living in Nairobi, Kenya, and here’s what he wrote to our friends over at Golf Digest:

“Golf in Kenya used to be reserved for old men (rich geezers), but times have changed. Tiger Woods has been an inspiration to many young Kenyans — who, incidentally, think that golf is an easy game. I thought so, too.”

Mwangi goes on to say he would rather not disclose his handicap (feel you, my man) and has driven for many miles to get a game before. He also had to stop playing so much because it was interfering with work so much (raises hand again).
