Logan golfer wins sight category in NSW Blind Golf Championships

LOGAN City Golf Club member Glenn Niciejewski has won his sight category and finished third overall at the Blind Golf New South Wales Open.

The Loganlea resident’s 9 under (104) in the first round and 5 under (108) in the second round won him the B1 (totally blind) category by “at least 10 shots”.

Niciejewski, who lost his sight in a car accident in 1999, said his caddie played a major role in the victory.

“My caddie Geoff (Adami) puts the club behind the ball and lines my feet up and makes sure I’m square,” said Niciejewski, who first got into golf in 2007 when some of his mates encouraged him to have a hit at the Oxley Driving Range.
