Birdie Blitz
ParticipantI just checked the results from yesterdays round and found out that I was a mere 23 points off the winning score. Some guy playing off a 36 hçap had 56 Points. That is by far the biggest singles event score I have seen – I’ve seen in the mid 40’s may of even had one in the mid 40’s when I was a kid but seriously I haven’t gone close to that in a 4BBB.
I was talking to guy in the bar after the round who had 46 points, you would reckon your a shoo-in to win with that but to be 10 shots behind is ridiculous.
That is the equivalent of playing 20 shots better than your hçap.
What is the best singles score you have seen / had??
Birdie B. 56 Sford points / +10 Par

ParticipantDon’t know, but you would have to suspect it was new and played dead in the first few hçapping rounds. I think under the World Handicapping System it might be classed as an “exceptional nett score”.

Was thinking that too.
But.
It’s still only a full shot adjustment. So the burglar can burgle away some more.

ParticipantMy PB, many years ago, playing off a daily of 27 (under the old system) was 28 pts on the front 9 at Pelican Waters, which was followed by another 10 pts on the
first 5 holes of the back 9. I came home wipe wipe wipe wipe.By the time you realise this part of my signature doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

Ummm the current handicapping system has the same available
Look at section 16
It was used at my club, created a stirIf it was a new player, with a new handicap and it was their 1st round for handicapping they wont be playing off 36 at the next outing…. Who knows allowing for DSR etc…. maybe 16 handicap or less

ParticipantI was one of the “Bandits” one day.
Had being playing golf for 9 months (60 Years old), took the next four months off to surf and sail, came back in late February and played my first comp, had only a few balls on the practice range since my last comp.
Handicap still 36
Had 52 points with one wipe.
felt like I could not do a thing wrong.
Five years later I’m down to 18
I enjoy golf but i’m not good at it.1 user liked this post.
