Goldy, we should look to finalise the dates soon. Book before christmas?

    Yep….thinking April as discussed

April is pretty much full of holidays.

A good thing or not for trip?

    Good Friday – 10 April
    Easter Monday – 13 April

Assuming will avoid Easter Monday, but we fly in on a Monday and leave Tuesday evening, we could do the following:
    6 and 7 April
    20 and 21 April
    27 and 28 April

I am leaning towards 6 and 7, so we get the slightly warmer weather, and longer days.

So why do they call you fairwaybomber?

I’ve always wanted to do Barnbougle. Couldn’t talk the old man into it. Flights aren’t an issue for me due to a family member but having someone to go with has been. I’d be keen as long as the dates work.

Folks, all things considered, for the month of April, I think the 20th and 21st are the most viable dates. Lets’ use this for now, so everyone can start looking at their April plans, speak to the ministry of finance and their constituents etc etc.

Goldy and I will look to book this before Christmas, so get your business in order beforehand! Happy to make the bookings etc, but any upfront costs will need to be received beforehand.

In a nutshell, the high level plan is:
    20/4/2020 – Monday

Fly in to Launceston 20th April
Pick up hire car and drive to Barnbougle Dunes
      Play 18 at Barnbougle Links
      Stay at Barnbougle Links cabins
Dinner at Barnbougle Restaurant (or Lost Farm)

    21/4/2020 – Tuesday

      Pack up
Drive to Lost Farm and play 18
      Lunch at Barnbougle/Lost Farm
      Drive to Launceston Airport
      Fly back to Melbourne

Our previous trip was around $550 per person. This included shared accomodation, green fees for both courses, shared rental car and flights. Excludes food, drinks and petrol (very small amount),

So why do they call you fairwaybomber?

It makes sense $ wise if you have a confirmed big group (20+), being picked up at the same time. It can be limiting as you need to org another bus if you want to drive to the other course or need to get around. Works out cheaper if you rent a car (about $50 pp for the 2 days).

So why do they call you fairwaybomber?

There is also a free shuttle service between the courses.

cool, its an option for those who prefer that. Do you want to look into the logistics of it?
