ParticipantHave been down at Lorne with the family and mates family.
Snuck out for 9 holes around Lorne GC without the kids. Don’t think I have ever played to my handicap around that course, started triple, par, bogey and didn’t get much better after that. Cleaned up my mate for the beers though.
Went out the next day for 9 holes in an Ambrose with my mate and 4 kids (aged 6, 7, 9, 11), no one behind in case you were wondering. Played the first 3 holes than discarded 3 kids with their mums and finished the nine with my mate and my 9 year old girl. Shot 36 in the 6 person come 3 person Ambrose.
While my golf at Lorne GC far from excelled I performed a lot better at the minigolf shooting two 38’s and left a couple shots out on the course. Apparently it equaled the course record although I find it hard to believe.

ParticipantStab at Warra today, off a lower 15 handicap.
16 out, 19 back for a 35 total.
Two wipes, one 4-point birdie from a chip-in, five 1-putts, no 3-putts.Only four scores in the 40s, five 39s and heaps of 38s and 37s. The 2 shot reduction seems to have had a minor effect.

The first is alright if you can hit a big “controlled” cut off the tee, unfortunately it is not in my repertoire and I end up losing a ball hence triple. I reckon if I ever play it in comp it will be 5 iron off the tee to top of the hill (dodging the kangaroos), 5 iron down the fairway and wedge in can’t bring myself to do it when just going for a hit though.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
Played crap.
12 out, 15 back for 27.
Four 1-putts, but three 3-putts. Wipes, 1-points, only a couple of 3-points.
I was doing alright on the back, 2-pointing everything, until a 1-point on 16 and a wipe on 17.I lose a flag on Saturday, then 7 non-flags to scrape off. Pennant starts on Sunday.

ParticipantAgg stab at Warra today.
15 & 15 = 30 points.
Two wipes, two 3-putts, four 1-putts, one chip-in (for 4 points).
That’s the last flag off for some weeks. Probably won’t get a shot back.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantPennant match today at Trafalgar.
I won 3 & 2, team won 5:nilMy opponent had to give me 5 shots, 3 of which I won without the extra shot, 1 I lost despite him giving me a shot, and that leaves just one of the 5 making a difference.

32 (2W 2×1) 35 putts not good.
Great day in the park with Weetie and Bump made up for some so-so scoring.
A fortuitous lightning break coincided with some heavy rain, so we pretty well had decent weather albeit being incredibly humid and very wet underfoot. Good company makes up for the foibles of the weather anyway.
Weetie played pretty well with the exception of some short game glitches. Bump came home well the second nine, and it’s obvious that with more reps he would be playing off 3 or 4……but he got flogged in the ‘match’:)

ParticipantWith Warra’s greens being cored yesterday (at least that was the plan), some of us ventured south to Korumburra today.
The fairways are fairly wide but everything, inclding the greens, slopes at significantly oblique angles to create a challenge to everyone. One must be able to direct every shot precisely. If you spray it, you lose it. The 9-marker in our group had a shocker of a day.So, how’d I play? Not so well. 13 out, 17 back in for a 30 point total. I managed one 4-pointer and a few 3-points. But I had some wipes, a lost ball, a drowned (but recovered) one and other stuff-ups.
The fairways are currently being converted to santa anna, so they are patchy. But will be great when grown in.

Thank you Up, that is very humbling to hear from you.
That’s the single most frustrating part, I can do some shots that tell others I can play, then I am very promptly reminded that I currently, cannot!1 user liked this post.

It won’t be long before the studies are completed, the kids are grown up, and the bride doesn’t want you underfoot……….a mere 18 – 20 years – provided you don’t more sproglets.

The match wasn’t very even – even with a good back nine by Bump
But the company was excellent as usual – really appreciate the invite again Upnin
Now if I can just get that shot game going
