Participant25 (6W 1×1) – what can I say…..I stunk the place up. Did manage a par on 18 to square the match for of only two 3 pointers.
You must have been pumped up playing with me and Bump – you’ve struggled since!
Didn’t want to totally embarrass myself is all……

ParticipantVets golf at Casterton ( rural Vic) on a bright sunny day with just a hint of breeze. Best day for months.
The fairways had dried out ,but the greens were well watered. Perhaps a little too well watered if you consider the mud in the traps!
I had to re- learn about hitting of very bare lies, so after a good start my irons got a little erratic distance wise. Tee shots were mainly in play, if not the best shape or distance. A few rolled off the fairway into the tree trash. No snakes today! Putting was a bit off on distance control, but only one three putt today.Score 93. 33 points. Still waiting for another break through round like last month when I hit an 82. Maybe today?

ParticipantVets at Deep Creek (the venue formerly known as Pakenham) today.
Heavy storm activity was promised but didn’t eventuate until we’d all finished. We had a few drops a few times but not enough to get wet.The new layout is quite good, unless you’re walking, where there’s a few long hikes to the next hole. More signs are needed.
Course quality was good although I found the greens somewhat slow.I had 16 & 17 points for a 33 total. A few wipes in there (maybe 3?). Seven 1-putts. One 3-putt when the ball snicked the flag stick and slipped out.
People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.

KeymasterPlayed in Qld Open Pro Am yesterday at Pelican Waters.
First-round in three months, but did hit range night before the dust off some cobwebs.
Format with all tee off and pick the best ball, play your own in. 84 pts for aggregate best two scores. winner at 101. So it was not recorded for handicap purposes.
I was surprised at how well I actually hit the ball. Used many of my tee shots. My short game was pretty solid with many pitches to 6inches. Tricky greens and missed some makeable putts. Im one club shorter than usual when Im playing well. So adjusted to that and was hitting some great irons into fairly small greens.
I kept some simple swing thoughts and worked well. Bloody stinker of a day heat wise 36 with high humidity. course in pretty good condition considering all the rain. Will add to our 2022 Nationals schedule!
Considering the long layoff Im positive about a come back soon to get my handicap down! Well, maybe not too much before Nationals;)

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
Playing off 16, there’s two no-shot holes and I happily parred them both today. I usually wipe them.
I also had a 4-point birdie, six 1-putts and a 3-putt.
36 points.
The greens were cored last Monday week and haven’t been mown since. Shaggy was an understatement. But with recent storms, ground staff have been very busy removing fallen timber and other debris. For longer putts today, I used a hybrid.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
