OldBogey
ParticipantThe country members aren’t in lockdown, yet.
Old farts’ 9 hole this morning. Playing off 18 & starting on the 10th.
I had a wanker score (6 for 1) on the easiest hole (11), but 2-pointed all the other holes with regulation bogeys.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantNot being able to play this week due to carts banned due to wet weather, I was keen for a hit today. The weather forecast indicated there’d be diabolically bad weather. The storms came near but headed off to Melb.
Plenty of vacancies on course but stage 3 restrictions mean playing with masks on, in pairs and no comps.
So we had a ‘for handicap only’ round. I had only 2 pars, 8 bogeys, and 8 doubles or worse. 25 points.
It was quite windy but barely a few drops of rain. That’s better than not playing.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantPlayed Headland off 12
Course was in great condition
I had 42 on the front for 18 points
40 on the back for 20 points
82 and 38 pointsDriver was pretty wayward with push fades for much of the day and cost me a few shots
Otherwise played pretty well apart from the wipe on 3 where the bad drive was followed by a bad punch from the trees and not getting up and down with Texas through wet grass5 users liked this post.

And couldn’t drop a birdie putt either!
11 pars was a very pleasing statistic for the day especially as it included 4 up and downs. But they were all on the front – failed to make a couple of pretty makeable chips on 16 and 17 which was disappointing. They weren’t bad chips but on both I didn’t get the break right on the ~6ft putts that were left.

ParticipantStab ‘for handicapping only’ at Warra today.
Starting holes in points were 2, 1, 0 for a total of 3 points in 3 holes. Then the ship steadied somewhat and I rounded out the front 9 with 14 points. By that time, the weather had warmed up a bit and I managed 21 points on the back. When I arose this morning, it was -0.4°, 4° when I left home, up to around 6° at tee off and up to 16° when we finished. It’ll be spring in 3 weeks.

ParticipantStab at Warra.
11 points out: two doubles, two wipes.
17 points back: two doubles, one wipe, but also three pars. All flags move south a notch. My 35 points on Tues cost me .2 off my ‘cap. Four non-flags to eat up before I can get them back.

ParticipantStab at Warra, ‘for handicap only’.
Started poorly with wipe, par, wipe, wipe but then steadied for 14 points out.
Then 17 points back in for a 31 point total. The weather forecast was for storms and snow down to 1000m. But we had a lovely sunny day. The wind sprang up a bit toward the end of the round but is quiet and sunny still, a few hours later. Playing in pairs, the round took a little under 3 hours despite waiting on every hole for the first nine.
Commiserations to those under lockdown and curfew.

ParticipantWe might as well be in lock down stage 4 today. Hail , high winds and heavy rain hit the SW coast of Victoria. I expect our course will be under water now.

Ours won’t be under water, the rain drains off the hills fairly quickly. The problem is that they ban carts when wet because they’re worried we might leave a track. Not much golf happening at this time of year.
In any case, I wouldn’t have played in that crap weather today anyway. Instead, doing sudokus and prattling on in here. And that sleep in until 10:00 was great.
