ParticipantI haven’t hit a bad shot in nearly a month.
That’s OK, every 3rd bad shot I hit until you get back on course, I will gratefully donate to you. So, on average you should have about 5 per round and some of those will be absolute fuckin shockers. I wonder if they will allow me to reflect my kind hearted gesture on the score card?

Even par thus far?
To be honest, I haven’t kept count. But I suspect even is the worst of it.

ParticipantMount Compass GC (SA). Top course in great condition, love playing here. Off the Blacks which made it a bit tougher.
Started well but fatigue crept into my game and big fade out on the back nine.
On this course, you need to stay on the fairways or risk losing a ball, which I did mostly on the front, coming in with 17 points.
But after going for a big drive on the 10th only to find a fairway bunker, then the scrub which led to a wipe. Next hole, cracked a ripper low drive into the (light) wind only to hit the ground hard with my next shot, causing lots of pain in the wrist. My game went downhill from there.
One of the Par three’s, 201 meters into the light wind, hit driver and put it on the green about 10 feet past !
Lost too many balls on the back nine and came in with 11 points.
Great day with good friends.1 user liked this post.

Great day with good friends.Best part of all that is the last five words.. Oh alright, I suppose the 17 points on the front 9 is pretty good as well.

ParticipantMy memories of Mt Compass are of a pretty course and a very big black snake on hole #4!

ParticipantAnother stab ‘for handicap only’ day today.
Glorious golf weather but you wouldn’t know that looking at my score.
I actually had a good 9 hole score. Pity it took me 18 holes to rack that up. 12 & 12 for 24 points. My only 3-point was the last hole. I’ve hardly played in the last fortnight due to wet weather and carts not being allowed. My game has gone to crap.Bring on spring.

The Rough has been thin a lot
and I would not get too far off the fairways on warm days
It’s only a ball !August 30, 2020 at 2:02 pm #13297Weetbix
ParticipantBetter
8 over 79 ar Virginia off 12
2 birdies
2 3 putts
No wipes
Hit the ball mostly solidly
4/11 up and downs – chipped decently but not great by a long shot
Dropped some good putts, but a couple of lags from 40ft or so weren’t good enough6 users liked this post.

I dont get why you would put a card in for handicap only, when weather is crap and its not a comp(unless its to donate comp fee to club).
You are already at your anchor and so if play bad it only gives negative thoughts. At least you can still play.
All of us in the Metro prison wont be out on course until at least cup day in November, so Dancer and i might get a game with you before Christmas.

Yes, it’s a donation – I view it as green fees. All who pay a tenner go into a draw for a nominal ‘raffle’ ($40), but only a fairly small percentage get one of those.
I’m trying to move all my flags down – I might just get out to the max 18.9 which will have me playing off 18. I can’t go any further until the middle of next year.

Played crap, something like 27 points. All flags move south a notch.By the way, it was fabulous golf weather, I really have no excuse.
