    Stab at Warra today.

18 out with a wipe (a stupid conifer swallowed my ball at chest height and needed sugery to give it back, I smashed it up good), and 17 back in. That’s 35 points.
    Five 1-putts, no 3-putts.

Par at Yering Meadows (Valley course) with Goldy. Playing off 12 hcp for the day

    Front 9 – Square
    Back 9 – Square

Square all round…Not un-happy given that I’m on night shift and haven’t had a score near my handicap in a long while. A flagged round
Birdie on the first hole (10th) for a plus

    Stab at Warra again today.
One wipe, three 2-points and five 3-points on the front for 21 points.
Two 3-points on the back and all the rest were 2-pointers for another 20 points.
Seven 1-putts (no 3s) certainly helped.

41 points won the day but it was only a small field, I am the big shark in a small pond sometimes.

Trouble is that club champs start on Sat and today’s effort drags me back to a playing ‘cap of 18. So, instead of a good chance in C grade, I’ve now got Buckley’s in B grade. Bugger it !!!!!
No one really cares about the B or C grades anyways, we’re all just choppers taking spots in the field when it should be a single grade Championship anyway.
    Just my thoughts…

    From memory now, technically no.
On the 13th I was on the fringe surrounds and putted off the green, then only had two more putts.

Didn’t play Royal Melbourne yesterday morning –
    too wet.

Didn’t play Rossdale yesterday – too wet.

Didn’t play Warra today – too wet for carts. Round 1 of club champs – postponed until next week. Actually, they’ve renamed round 2 to round 1 and there won’t be a round 2. Top 8 in each grade into match play knockout. As I’ve just knocked myself out of contention by dropping back to B grade (13 to 18), it doesn’t matter what they do, I really shouldn’t have bothered to take up space on the timesheet anyway.

Should be warm and sunny on Monday for Vets (East vs West Gippsland) at Traralgon, looking forward to a warm day and lots of cold beers

I will update my last two games now because I had a nap after getting home yesterday and didn’t tell you how I played

Stab at Traralgon yesterday with the Old Vets, some of these codgers make me feel young, especially the way they look so tired from walking the course

Despite my drives, although not long at all were all fairly straight all day, I otherwise played atrocious golf.

Started on the 13th and after those 6 holes I had amassed two 1-point scores and wiped the rest. Front nine was a bit better with a couple of 3-point pars and 15 points. Returning to the back nine for the last 3 holes was just another 3 points. Total for the day was thus 20 points. Drained a couple of long putts but many just missed / turned away / stopped short. I farked around so much just getting to greens that I often had to 1-putt for a point but failed. I also had trouble getting out of bunkers (mostly just lack of skill and determination to practice). I bladed wedges too many times and just failed miserably.

Nevertheless, it was a great summer’s day, around 30°, the course was well prepared, greens were excellent and the problems with bunkers were due to the substantial rain we’d had. Enjoyed the drinks afterwards

Stroke at Warra today, I’m glad it wasn’t stroke yesterday or otherwise I’d still be out there.

A slow start with 6,7,6 (par 4s) including 3-putts on 2nd and 3rd. Settled a bit after that with no more 3-putts for the day and nine 1-putts.

Back nine started with four 1-putt pars, lipped out on the 14th for a bogey, another par on 15, bogey on 16, then blew it all apart with an 8 on the 17th.

Talking of buggared holes, on the par5 8th I managed multiple hits on ‘furniture’ (rubbish bin, seat, etc) and trees, all with rebounds, to finally get on the green for 8, then 1-putted for a 9 there.
The cart does need an extraneous top-up for all the petrol I used driving all over the course
52 out and 42 back in for a nett 76. A chalk and cheese day.

    Stab at Warra today.

Good front nine including a 4-point birdie, six 1-putts, but also a 3-putt and turned on 21 points.
Back nine started with another 3-putt. But had two wipes, some 1-points and only two more 1-putts. 12 points.
I put it down to fitness and my lack thereof and I admit that I lost my cool at one point on the 12th when my cooler holding the 4 beers I had for the back nine tipped out of the cart when I was racing across around the green which took me a few holes to regain composure.
A total of 33 is not what it could have been
