ParticipantStab at Warra today. A few good holes of 3 points each and a few more wipes. 14 out & back for a miserable 28 point total.
I had some fun in a couple of bunkers trying gentle outs but failing, so I continued to successfully repeat the failures quite precisely. I could hit the lip at the top of the bunker every time. There are plenty of you tube instructional videos on how not to get out of a bunkers.
If you are hitting the top lip that shows consistency in technique.
I was just being too gentle. But when you don’t get a shot on the hole and you fail with the first attempt, a wipe is probable. So I figured I might as well get some practice. Consistently weak.
Have you been golfing anywhere?

ParticipantYes OB I played Centenary park Tuesday with Dancer, very good day and course was in excellent condition.
dancer played great golf with a 94 off the stick. he defeated me 6&4 in our match.
$19 after 2pm= great value.Yesterday I played Royal Garfield with Littleman. Course was enjoyable as always. green were slower than normal, lush grass cover on the fairways, so good lies all way round. I was in the trees all day and still had good lies.
Littleman will probably join Garfield over summer. its close to his new farm and he goes skiiing over winter.
Lots of players were out playing yesterday and even so, we went round in just on 3hrs 15.
Taking our time, hitting a few extra shots etc.scheduled to play Lang Lang next Thursday with Dancer and Warra next Sunday, but if CoviDan announces tomorrow that the BS Metro Wall is still in place until December or March next year , will look to join somewhere else so I can continue to play over summer

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
Strong, gusty wind played havoc with our attempts to play golf.
Into the wind on 3 and my ball curled right away from the intended line and was drowned. A drop for 2, up to the fairway for 3, the wind pushed the ball away from the green for 4, on for 5 and the uphill upwind putt stopped 1cm short, all for a wipe. Only one of our 4 scored a point on that hole. That pretty much set the tone for all of our group.
No need for a ‘blow by blow’ (pun intended) for the rest of it.
Just 13 out, 17 back for a 30 point total which scraped in for a ball DTL.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantSLGC Stroke, playing off 22, a perfect day for golf. Warm sunshine and light wind.
Started badly with a Ten on a par 4 (hooked a three-wood over the fence, dropped another ball, and did it again) then an 8 a bit later, two pars for a front 9 total of 51
three holes into the back nine and I tweaked my back racking a bunker. I shuffled along for the rest of the day.
even with the back screaming in pain, I played well, five pars! finished with 41 on the back nine.
Five over on the way out, Five under on the way in, giving me even Par 70.
Good result but not a day I felt good about.

Participant4BBBB stab at Warra yesterday.
We didn’t play well and both stuffed the same hole, instead of spreading the joy, far too often. We had trouble getting over 30 points.
One frustrating aspect: I’d have a mid length putt to do, watch another player’s ball on a similar line take a small break, then watch my ball run dead straight just missing the hole. The short return putt should therefore have been straight, but see it take a big curve away and also miss. That happened 3 or 4 times. Bloody annoying !
Weather was good until the last two holes when we were rained on.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantFoursomes at Warra today. A crappy format but we had fun anyway. Neither of us played well but we did have some good shots.
100 gross, 82 nett will get us nothing, but who cares.

ParticipantRound one of matchplay champs today.
As predicted, went down 2&1.
I was ahead of my handicap after nine and was leading 2 up. But I weakened and my opponent had a few good holes, taking me to 2 down after 15, and that’s where it stayed.Although I only had to give him two strokes, his next opponent (handicap +3) has to give him 21.

ParticipantSaturday, SLGC, Stabb, Windy cold. played off 21
Started slow missing silly stuff, a chip or a short put.
Turned the corner with 17 points and was surprised to have that.
Played better on the back nine, steady would be a better description, 22 points.
39 points, fourth overall 2nd in my grade.

ParticipantI rarely play ‘comp’ so posting in here is somewhat of a novelty. but since I played in the ‘blue marker challenge’ at OSCC on Friday, here I am.
102 OTS for a ‘played to’ of … well, that’s to be determined. For some reason my score hasn’t posted to my GA.
Maybe due to the course being re-rating? Don’t know, need to call them today. When the re-rating goes through, it will now be a slope of 148, scratch 74. Currently a slope 138, scratch 74.
Current rating slope 138 will give me a played to of 22.9. Re-rated 148 will be 21.4.
Either way really, a bit off my GA of 15.6

good warm up for next years pennant, that is assuming no one will call it off again because somebody catches a mild cold.

ParticipantPlayed today at Eastern Sward with Dancer.$20 green fees which is good value. caught up with coach Garth who is developing course nicely.
very good condition of course with lush fairways and greens are good putting surface, moderate fast down hill, lots of break on some of them. This course is about position off tee.
lots of lakes to get into and small greens where need to keep your approach shots .
Best hole on course is par 3 8th.
1st time round its 175m, second time its 154m to a small well bunkered 2 tier green
Fun day will be back again soon.1 user liked this post.

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
Two wipes, one par going out: 12 points
One birdie, two pars (including the index-1 hole) back in for another 18 points.
Lots of rubbish on the other holes, despite perfect conditions.
Total 30 points. The regular mid-table mediocrity.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
