Stableford at Green Acres yesterday. (Never played there) A tight tree lined course that needs accuracy off the tee. A low course rating so my GL 9.6 translated to playing off 9 for the day.

    Front 9 – 20 points ( 2 over 38 OTS)
    Back 9 – 18 points ( 5 over 40 OTS)

38 points got me a 3rd in A grade and a NTP. Drove pretty well with about 12 FIR and 10 GIR.

An enjoyable course that I would like to play again.

good score Francie but only 3rd again, seem like its another award for you TBPNTHWAPGD

    MM stroke at Warra today.
Except for one hole, I pIayed reasonably. One par, three doubles, one Bo Derek.

The 5th hole is a short, level par4 with no bunkers. But there’s a road down the left side and a gully along the right side. My first drive went nicely up the left side but my ball took a sharp bounce left and through the fence OOB. Second drive repeated the first, bouncing through the fence. Third drive was deliberately pushed right but nestled against the trunk of a huge cypress with the only option being a chip onto the fairway, for 6. Hit up the fairway for 7, on for 8 and two putts.

    Nett 80.

The 5th is indeed a tough hole and only 330 ish m in length = So 6I off tee, 9 I short, chip on take your 5. look happy

fun day today at langy with little man and dazzle.(first game in over 12 months)
wind blowing but greens softened a bit after rain overnight so not usual speed.
game was good overall round today in wind, as I punched drivers low under tree line and kept ball in play all day. found a couple of bunkers but got out no problems.
solid finish with 5 GIR and 5 pars from 14 to 18, but Little man won the day.

Playing at Leongatha tomorrow in vets final day. I always go well here. course is on sand so dry. Its an Ambrose so will be lots of fun will try out the new vision prototype which has been sitting in box since lock down.

That’s giving up before you start. I’d rather go for a birdie chance, 1 fault and it’s a par, 2 faults and I have a 5. Your method leaves no room for errors and no chance of improving my position.

Playing with a few mates I grew up with down at The Dunes. Tough conditions with the wind up hit a full 6 iron to a 110m hole and came up short. . one of the par 3’s my mate hit the back of the green about 70 feet from the hole by the time we got there the wind had blown it back towards the hole and ended with a 5 foot birdie putt.
Playing off 10 had 29 points (16pts front 13pts back) and was rapped . A new flag but no change to handicap.

Glenelg Vets day at Portland. Windy ( 40-50 kph) and wet, as is usual. The freshly cored and sanded greens were diabolical.

Playing off 13 for the first time today. I hit an 88 off the stick ( 6 pars, 8 bogeys, 4 doubles) Mostly I three putted the doubles, but I did hit a few iron shots fat and made incorrect club choices. Scored 34 points.

If only I could hit the ball as well as you, Bumpy.
Provided my driver doesn’t put the ball into trouble, for me it’s driver & 4H or 9i depending on how well the driver went. It’s actually only a little over 300m so there’s no need for a big hit, but it’s still driver every time. My driver is no less accurate in direction than any other club in the bag.

Veterans’ golf resumed today, conveniently playing stab at Drouin. Drouin is somewhat longer than Warra with a heap of par5s and long par4s.
Shotgun start from the 6th, I had three 1-point and a 2 point on the front. Back nine had a wipe and some 1s but enough 3-points to garner 17 points. Returning to the front I had a 4-point birdie on the 1st but also a wipe and too many 1-points for another 15.

    Total: 32 points.

Second in A grade was 37 points which suggests it might have been a bit tough out there, with showers rolling through. But C grade was led by two players with 46 points. The course was in excellent condition although I found the greens a bit slow.

    Back to Warra tomorrow.

we will have to better line up the Vets games so I can come and play some West events, the venues which are closer than some of the South ones.

Par at Warra today. Even out, -2 back in.
Something like five pars wasn’t too bad. Just have to fixe the fuckup holes.
