    Oldies’ nine hole this morning.
Handicap (their system) was 21 which allowed me two shots on two holes (index 1 & 3).
Four 3-points and one 1-point for a 21 point total. Won the day (on countback) and will lose those 3 strokes off handicap for next time.
$4 comp fee to win $10. Good thing we don’t play for the money.

First round of club championships on Saturday and R1 of pennant sunday at Korumnurra.

    saturday
    Lang Lang:
course was in excellent condition just a windy day. played well all day a and in control of game all day finish of bogey , Double bogey for 83.
finished T14 in Gross event so a commendable effort in wind, as only 8 players out of field of 140 broke 80.
qualified for net championship with a 72, at T6 and T3 in seniors championship.
    final rounds next week
    sunday
    pennant at Korumburra
lost 2/1 my first loss in pennant since mid way through 2019 .My opponent gave me chances, which I surprisingly didn’t take advantage of..(lack of match play tune up)
greens were bumpy and slow after coring and sanding, so this was quite a difference from the slick surface on day before and this meant putting was a lucky dip from inside 1m. I missed 2 putts inside 1m at about mid point of round and this was the difference in end.
next week will be different and i will be more focussed when opponent gives me chances.

Stab at Warra yesterday. Hadn’t played since monday due to wet weather.
We (usual partner in crime & I) contemplated our 11:22 start time in consultation with the weather radar and concluded that 1:06 (last group, off the 10th) gave us a better chance of a dry run. As the time approached, we were at the course sheltering from rain but were hopeful of it clearing, which it did.
We had a clear run, except for all the slow pokes ahead. We joined up with another pair doing their second nine and played 15 to 18 as a four. We immediately caught the three in front again but they let us through on the 1st.
Fine weather ensued but we waited on every hole for the groups ahead. On the 9th tee, we encouraged them to get a bloody move on as the weather was closing in. Not their fault as they had been held up by others ahead. Needless to say, halfway down the 9th, the heavens opened up and gave us a drenching. I wiped the 9th and submitted my 33 points.
Back at the clubhouse and after spending a few minutes under the verandah organising my gear, the clouds gave way to glorious sunshine. We could’ve just sheltered under trees on the 9th and stayed dry !!!!

It seemed like we were waiting all day but the end result was that it only took 3H 20min for the 18 holes. Around a third of the field didn’t finish their round, so we were lucky to be mostly dry.

Today is the pennant final. I was down as emergency so I went to Yallourn to see them off then came back home. Our opponents, Garfield, have been strong all season. If they continue their form today, we’ll have a tough time beating them.

I noticed at Yallourn that the electrical plug on my cart trailer was hanging loose and the 110 Kph bitumen had destroyed it, so replacing it gave me something to do on my return.

Off to the club at 4:30 for ‘pennant finals celebrations’ even if we don’t win the pennant.

2nd round of club championships yesterday at the home of golf.

87 OTS in wind and rain. finished a commendable T13 in gross and T8 in nett.

Pennant today at Wonthaggi in the rain.
No clouds anywhere else in Victoria except over Wonthaggi and there were heavy showers as we teed off then showers all day.
really stayed focussed today and won match 1 up.
close match all day and neither player was never more than 1 up at any point.
lucky I was getting 1 shot today and that was on 8th hole a par 3.( according to match play index)
match was all square at turn.
I won 10th, he won 11th, I won 12th hole to go 1 up then held solid and halved all way home to win at last.so a solid effort
    team lost 3/4

Off to play a great course on Phillip Island tomorrow called Aussie Golf Ranch, every hole is a par 3. Its a gem, lots of bunkers and water hazards, and 2 sets of tees so can do 18 different holes.

Monday was the oldies’ nine hole stab.
It was a lovely morning, quiet, peaceful, no wind. Everything was fresh and green. Perfectly set for a great score.
Last week with them I had 23 points. On Sat I had 20 points on that nine. But on this occasion I racked up just 11 points.

Yesterday was the regular stab at Warra. 18 out and 18 back for a 36 point total.
That means I now have two 36s in my 8 flags and lost .1 off my ‘cap. Another couple of months and my anchor point will be drifting out.

Erratic is a term I would use to describe my game today.

I hit 5 GIR, 5 up and downs to make 7 pars, 7 bogeys , but threw it all away with 4 doubles ( including 3 penalty strokes for one lost ball and OOB)

    score 88 / 32 points.

    Stab at Warra today.
Three wipes, heaps of 1-points, only two pars.
    11 out, 15 back for 26 points.
Played some nice shots and some absolute crap. Lovely weather.

    Stab at Warra yesterday.
I lacked consistency in my shots, some were great (for me), others were crap. Front nine scores were very consistent though, with three 1-points and two points on all the other six holes. 15 points.
Back nine had more variety with two wipes and a few pars, but that’s just 13 points.
The Miscore app now lets you count putts, so I turned that on. Only one 3-putt and a total of 32. I think the notion of counting putts encourages me to try a bit better.

    Another stab at Warra today.
Hitting straighter (most of the time) and chipping them close (more often than I have been lately).
No wipes, just two doubles, five pars. All of which adds up to 38 points. At this stage, leading the field but there are still many to come in. 31 putts helped, no 3-putts.
