Birdie Blitz
ParticipantPlayed Good Friday in a RCH fundraiser. Started double, bogey, bogey. Manage to hold it largely together for 16pts on front nine. Back nine was pretty solid with 6 pars, 1 birdie, 1 bogey but a triple bogey (numerous trees after a wayward drive). 20 pts on the back for a solid 36 pts and another counter. Didn’t do anything particularly well but didn’t do anything badly either.

ParticipantAnother stab at Warra today.
Hitting straighter (most of the time) and chipping them close (more often than I have been lately).
No wipes, just two doubles, five pars. All of which adds up to 38 points. At this stage, leading the field but there are still many to come in. 31 putts helped, no 3-putts.First group out….were you?
No, 9:24
Was beaten by a later 39 points.
Lost a stroke off my playing ‘cap, down to 16.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
I had a couple of early 3-putts and mostly 2-putts afterwards, total 35 putts.
Four pars on the front but a wipe on 8 (severe 2nd shot hook with hybrid) and too many 1-points meant 17 points on the turn.
On the back, a wipe on 14 (another hybrid hook 2nd shot into hundreds of fallen chestnuts lost the ball) and two doubles with no ‘good’ holes totalled just 13 points.I had numerous good shots including straight drives but just couldn’t capitalise on them. Putting didn’t help.

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
Good drives, rest was crap.
Three 1-points on the front and only two pars. 16 points.
Three wipes on the back nine and just 2 points per hole for the rest. 12 points.
34 putts, there was a 3-putt in there. We were not under pressure from behind, so each hole was putted out. A wipe doesn’t mean 0 putts.

ParticipantMM stroke/putts with Olinda @ Beacy yesterday.
With the forecast rain, I wonder why I went at all.
I was pleased with my drives with most being straight up the guts. But the rest of my game could’ve been better with a couple of blowout holes. Two 3-putts didn’t help either.

ParticipantVictorian Veteran Golfers Association, Eastern Zone Challenge at Yallourn today.
Basically, that’s all clubs east of Melb: East Gippsland, Peninsula, South Gippsland & West Gippsland.
West Gippsland won by slim margin from South Gippsland.
How did I play? Crap. 29 points.
But it was nice to accept the trophy on behalf of 13 clubs in West Gippy.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

Well I did my part for the southerners by having 39 points. (my best round around Yallourn)
Good solid round 82 OTS , which included 3×3 putt greens, until I settled down on slower pace and then had 7 x 1 putts.
ball striking good.Sunday is pennant at Leongatha, and then Monday 26th is a game at Yarram

ParticipantMultiplication stableford at Warra today.
No multiplication results out yet with half the field yet to post theirs scores. We had some 6s but no 9s or 12s that are needed to win such rubbish.
I had 33 points individually with 31 putts. One wipe, only two pars.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
No rain but the brisk wind was blowing balls off greens and interfering with our shots a little.
A couple of wipes and only a couple of pars. Only a couple of 1-putts to match the two 3-putts.
I had opportunities. On the par 3 15th, my tee shot finished just a few feet from the hole but my straight up the hill putt missed the hole. On the index-1 13th I was on for 2, a very rare event, and the wind nearly succeeded in blowing my ball off the green leaving a fairly long uphill putt, but mine finished a few inches short.28 points.

ParticipantFair enough Francie.
But the question is “How did you play?”, not “Did you play well?”.
For most of us, (except Muzz) playing well is an all too infrequent event.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
