ParticipantStroke at Warra today. Bitterly cold until the back nine. It was -1° when I arose and up to all of 1° when we teed off.
Front nine: one 3-putt, only two 1-putts. Back nine: no 3-putts and five 1-putts for a 29 putt total. That sounds alright but I had a couple of blowout par 3s. On the 7th, I duffed the tee shot off the toe of the club, on for 3 then that 3-putt. On the 15th I topped the tee shot which then ran across the fairway and under the dam fence. The re-load went far right, on for 5 and 1 putt. Getting 6s on par3s doesn’t help. Only three pars and too many doubles.
Nett 77.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantMonday
played Cohuna home of Stuart Appleby – what a lovely country course, sunny sky. lots of Kangaroos on fairways.
tight course amongst river gums so precision hitting needed not smashing, greens good. very enjoyable game.
had 84 (+13 ) playing worst ball game so this was a good sign.off to Rich River on Wednesday

ParticipantToday jumped in the courtesy bus and went over River and played at Rich River in the drizzle and showers. love RR complex great practice facilities and 2 courses. odd showers but still enjoyed the game.
played the Old course which is called WEST, course good and dry. played red tees today for scoring fun as it was wet and not much run.
RR have set up the West course as a shorter resort type course playable for golfers of all standards, whereas EAST is the championship course and beats up resort guests.
they also do different combo’s with the 4 nines so lots of variety, but these are only on weekends and during summer.
Anniversary tomorrow so no golfback to home course on Sunday for mixed Foursomes Championship.

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
18 points out with 15 putts and that included one wipe with 2 putts added for that hole.
Back nine score was 17 points with a 3-putt taking putts up to 19.
Grand total was 35 points (best for a long while) and 34 putts (plenty of cIose shaves).

ParticipantThanks CB, but we’re looking at fine weather until late in the week and I don’t want to play in the rain then anyway.

ParticipantUsing a brand new ball with freshly cleaned clubs, my first swing back in 6 months was a vicious snap-hook left that hit a house.
Starting the shotgun at Hope Island on 16, I washed that and the 15th for 32 points.
It took me a thousand holes of catching the ball on the toe end and turning it over to realise I should stand a smidgen closer to the ball, resulting in a measured drive of 304m, then a sand wedge to a few feet for a 3 a 4 that helped me a lot.Otherwise I was just so fair dinkum rusty that it didn’t feel comfortable at all.
But, it was the most awesomest enjoyable day with Dad and Weets. Such a fun day at an amazing course. Really loved it all.Subsequent advice from Weets told me that he thought I was standing too upright, which explains the toed shots.

ParticipantOldies’ nine hole this morning. It was down to 2° by the time I left for the course.
When we got to our first green, we found that the super had been out running tines through the greens and they hadn’t been rolled. On one hole, I had a long putt and my ball did a highland jig on its way to the hole. It started ok then jumped right, left, right, left, oh hell it fell in. But on another, the ball jumped all over the place and was still nowhere near the hole after 3 attempts.End result: three wipes, two 3-points and 2 points on each of the other four. Total 14 points.
Hopefully, the greens will be rolled for tomorrow.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantSunday was mixed foursomes day at the home of golf..
Course in very dry condition and good lies on fairways and greens back to normal speed.
last year we finished 4th and had a good score of 100, so we wanted to improve this year.I had practiced in rain at rich River on Wednesday but we were greeted with cloudy conditions and no rain with patches of sun.
My partner had won comp on Wednesday so was in good form and continued to hit the the ball well all day except on one hole , 5th par 3 where she topped it into scrub off tee and we made a 6.
We played well, stuck to our process and game plan and kept ball in play and out of trouble. All up 2 pars 6 bogeys 9 DB 1 TB for a 97 OTS, so a very good result,
We finished T2 in nett with a net 74.
best gross was 85 best net 68.-

While the golf wasn’t spectacular the company sure was – great to have a hit wit you again mate, and the Rusty Old Man himself
A bit of rust is to be expected given you still have games from 2017 in your golflink – and the resulting very low handicap
That birdie drive was a beauty no question – and one of the few times you got me on the day ?
Maybe my highlight of the day will have to be you “complimenting” me for my drive laying up well short of the fairway bunker you thought you had driven into only to find that you were just in a swale 20 or 30m behind my ball! And 70m short of that bunker. ?
Hopefully we don’t have to wait as long for the next hit

ParticipantSpeaking of driving how good was Rusty! Not sure he missed a fairway, and with the Bryson power kick off the front leg was getting some out there really well.
Was great to watch

The one where I then put my wedge’s pitch mark a foot short of the pin?
Was there a nearest to the pin on that hole?
