ParticipantMM stroke today, held over from last week’s lockdown.
Four 3-putts, but enough 1-putts to limit the damage to 34 putts. I did sink a few good, long putts.
Nett 72 was a whisker outside any money, apart from a ball dtl.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.

ParticipantOldies’ nine hole this morning.
Although it was 11-12°, it felt more like 5°. Must have been xman’s Portland wind.
I made a mess of the 16th. On for 3 then wiped the hole.
End result 17 points.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantPar round at Warra today.
Some light drizzle frequently blew over, just to be annoying.
I couldn’t get my swing into the swing of things, so to speak. Jacket on, jacket off, repeat.
Finished with -6 and around 30 putts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantSurely there are more L4G members than Xman and myself playing golf atm?
Stab at Warra yesterday. Two regular co-conspirators and myself joined by a friend (playing off 10) who recently moved to the coast an hour south. One of the Warra guys (off 14) had 32 points. The other 3 all had 26 points.
I had two wipes, no 3-points and that leaves six 1-point holes for the 26 total. We all had trouble putting, I had 39. Our ‘winner’ had 42 putts and immediately after the round signed up with the pro for a putting lesson. It must have been the greens because the weather was perfect (for this time of year) -shorts and shirts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantMaybe the Mexicans that are not in lock down have become tired of wet feet, mud in the their eyes, unpredictable ball response and hypothermia and are staying indoors. Maybe the BB’s are being thoughtful in not rubbing salt into NSW and Melbourne golfer’s wounds? Highly unlikely!

more golf next week when we hit northern area, or when back at the home of golf in 2 weeks (assume no lockdowns)August 22, 2021 at 5:07 pm #17344Weetbix
ParticipantPlayed at RiverLakes off the white tees off 6
Finished with 34 points which equates to an 8 over 78 – been a while since I scored in the 70’s so that felt good
Handicap down 0.1 to 9.6
My highest flag is now 10.9 but my only flag below 9 – a 6.4 at Nudgee from April – is dropping in 2 games so that will be a challenge to replaceNext week at Virginia – Greg Norman’s old club – will be round 2 of club champs
Round 1 was a write off so I need to perform in all 3 remaining rounds to have a chance1 user liked this post.

I’m surprised you remembered, I was only there for half a year in 2001 before I got my stupid full time golf career ruining job.
During the pennants’ season I would play at Virginia early on the Sunday then out to the Piney pennants’ game in the afternoon.

That was the cremation of the career, following the earlier death.
I seriously doubt the marriage and family would have happened if it wasn’t for me having the stupid golf career ending job – so swings and roundabouts there I guess.

2 games in 6 weeks?? Will your body hold up to the strain? ? And for the sake of my sanity, can you please advise how many putts you have each game. ?

WE ARE ANXIOUSLY AWAITING YOUR REPORT. (not shouting) Playing golf vicariously is, well, as good as it is possible at the moment in the virus ravaged SW districts of Victoria. I know I am exaggerating, as we don’t have any cases within 300 km of the border. Still we all witnessed the effectiveness of Dan’s “Ring of Steel” around Melbourne ( there wasn’t one) and with all of rural VIc closed, there is little motivation for the Metros to travel beyond the tram tracks.
Sun shine and light winds will dry the course out.
Hit a good score Weeti!
