ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
One wipe, two 3-putts, too many 1-points.
Finished with around 30 points, had 32 putts.I forgot to mention an unusual occurrence.
The par 4 5th hole, is short, fairly level and bunker free, but not very wide. The left side runs up beside a road with numerous old pine trees just inside the fence and just a few metres from the fairway. On the right of the fairway is a steep embankment down.
A straight drive is essential and the longer hitters then just have a chip to the geen.
So, my drive yesterday drifted left, between the trees and through the fence, never to be seen again. My provisional had been good and my 2nd/4th shot found the green and rolled just off the back edge. My next found the hole. After losing a ball, I still managed a 5 for 2 points, very rare indeed.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantYesterday?
Front 9 no wind to speak of, pretty good except for a 4 putt on a sloping green. My approach shot ended above the hole by 4-5 m and my finesse dribble down to the hole was short. Putt#2 was a tad quick and rolled over the right edge and kept going. Putt#3 was straight at the hole, but rolled to a stop before dropping. 4th time lucky!
Back 9 the southerly change arrived. I lost a few shots when I didn’t allow enough for the wind. A draw shot from 155m out straightened out in the wind, enough to end up in the bunker. Short sided I tried for a finesse shot with LW, but it failed to escape by 1 cm. Now even more short sided, the next shot leading edge hit the ball and cannoned it into the bunker wall and almost clobbered me. I hate the bunkers at Portland! Variable thickness of heavy sand is hard to judge when bounce is your friend or foe. Then I hit a cut shot off the tee on 16 and saw the wind push the ball into a slice shape into the trees and two shots to get out. Here was I thinking a draw would end up in the dam on the left if the wind got hold of it!

Participant41 putts today at the Wodonga mini golf.
doing a post game assessment.
1) didn’t allow for wind and thunder.
2) the ball used wasnt a premium tour ball so no back spin
3) poor reading of sloping surfaces.
4) stones and small twigs on the track made it easy to deflect ball off line
5) the side walls bounced ball more than I thought.onto to a real course on Friday at Yarrawonga provided no thunder and rain.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
Weather was quite blusterly but no rain, despite the promised hail and floods.
Only one wipe, on the 5th hole after first tee shot went OOB and over the road.
Three 3-putts didn’t help, nor did a few errant drives.
Finished with 32 points and 33 putts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantMM, stroke & putting with Olinda at Beacy.
My highest hit was a 7 on a par 4. While I scored some stab points on all the other holes, there were too many 1s and too few 3s.
Nett score: 77
Putts: only a few 3-putts but not many 1-putts either. 33 putts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantAgg stab at Warra today.
I had 34 points, partner had 36. Current winners are sitting on 76, but half the field are still to come in.
I had some good shots and some bad shots, as usual. Nothing of special note.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantWe played Agg Stab last Monday at Vets. My partner and I played a good 9 holes each, which didn’t really make the cut.

ParticipantStab at Warra today.
I wiped two holes and had a solitary 1-point, but I came home with 35 points so I must have had four 3-points.
33 putts which was an achievement in the strong winds.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

Participant4BBB Par today, at Warra. Actually round 2 of a 2 day event but neither of us played in it last week.
We had +6 on the front nine but just ■ on the back. (I hope that square symbol came through).
My drives were mostly straight with good length, somewhat better than other recent rounds.
No money for us.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

Participantsaturday golf at Rich river west course
84 OTS consisted of 1 birdie, 9 pars, 3 bog 4 DB 1 +3.
27 putts was highlight of day, made a lot of good chip and put pars so good result = won a bottle of wineMoinday golf at Rich river east course
78 OTS 1 birdie 10 pars 6 bogeys 1 DB, 34 putts, great play today, DB came when I tried to play too aggressively up the last trying to shoot a score.
overall much better ball striking today,10 GIR and putting was very good and solid, so cannot always judge putting by how many for round, as t had lots of putts over 5 and 10m, so not realistic birdies, 1 x3 putt on long green where I hit edge.so over 2 days had 84 +78 = 162 and won 2 bottles of wine, my mate played well also and had 83 / 84 for 2 days.
next two days off because of heat. new course next weekJanuary 17, 2022 at 8:27 pm #18040Francie
KeymasterSecond round of Summer Cup at Southern today.
21 front nine
14 back nine
No wipes but too many one pointers on the back.
35 will be one of the “banked” rounds as it’s best 3 of 4 rounds.Last week had 16 and 13 for 29.
Hopefully I can put a couple of 30 + rounds over the next two weeks to get decent money in the pro shop.
Played off 11 both rounds

ParticipantBB stab at Mirboo North with the Vets.
My partner regularly took the honour, but far too often I was not in the hunt. Trees kept attracting my ball, numerous times on some holes.
With our 40 points, we just missed out on a ball DTL.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
