    Par at Warra yesterday.
I like to have my stab points exceed my putts but that hasn’t been happening at all recently.
My result of -6 equates to 30 points which happened to equal my 30 putts.

30 putts is scratch golfer standard,,, so just saying.

A pro having 30 putts also has minus 6 so you are on track

If only he was a Pro. If only we were all Pro’s. It’s all the shit shots before we get to putt that causes more of the problem.

Par at Beacy yesterday, first round for some weeks.
I crashed heavily on my right knee onto concrete just over a week ago and have been unable to play. But on Thur night I stretched my leg out while in bed, something popped in the knee and it started working again. It’s still sore but nothing like what it had been for the preceeding week. Right hip is still giving me grief though.
So, with some trepidation, it was off the Beacy. Warra was having a bout of ‘too wet for carts and ride-ons’ so that was out.

How’d I play? Not all that bad. With all handicapping based on stableford scoring, you start a par round with 18 points and add to that as you go around. A half will earn another point and a win gets two points.
With a few wins and a few halves, my first nine came in with -2, bringing my points tally up to 25. Draining a few long putts had helped. Unfortunately that skill deserted me for the back nine with heaps of lip outs and a -5 for a -7 total and 29 points into golflink.
I probably should have taken some pain management pills with me but, unlike so many other oldies who pop pills to get through their second nine, I didn’t think of that.

today was golf at the ranch in dry conditions but the strong westerly wind 25 to 30km played havoc with the scores.
finished the day with a score of 73 = 27 points.11th in comp and 4th in gross.
The course is so difficult at a par of 54 especially in the strong westerly. This really showed up faults in my game which I have to work on.
I have some big tournaments coming up over next few months, so will continue my practice and lessons with coach to fine tune for these events
    South Gippsland Championship – Leongatha
Veterans State Championship – Barwon valley
    ISG nationals Hunter valley
SG vets club championships Phillip Island and meeniyan.

Stab at Warra yesterday. 28 points, 33 putts. If I didn’t have so many lip outs, the points to putts ratio would have been much closer. Conditions were good, no rain, gentle breeze, course was dry.
I have 5 flags dropping out in my next six rounds, so golflink will probably throw the anchor soon.

    Stab at Warra yesterday.
I started really well with a chip in on the first, drained a single long putt on the 2nd but then 3-putted the 3rd.
    Overall: 31 putts (14/17), 32 points (16/16).

Now miscore has forgotten all my rounds including yesterday’s.

MM Stroke at Warra yesterday. Shotgun start. I chose the afternoon run, starting on 13 (just a par 3 from the clubhouse).
I was all set to be on for 3 but I pulled my 3rd left into a tree. My ball fell out close to the trunk which completely blocked out the green. Triple bogey to start. A few holes later to the par3 15th. Tee shot left into the deep bunker, out in one but flew the green, nice little chip but the ball wouldn’t stop and continued down a grassy slope. Not wanting to fly the green again, a gentle chip up onto the green but the rotten ball turned around and came back down to me. By this time I’d decided the medal was gone and it didn’t matter any more. So I practised the chip a few more times before getting it right and completed the hole with a nine.
So, that was definitely the end of my medal attempt. Later in the round I had a birdie and a number of pars, finishing with a nett 76 which somehow got 3rd place in C grade.
Also, that was 2 strokes better than the flag which dropped off the bottom of my last 20, costing me .2 and a stroke off my ‘cap.

Edit: My total putts was 29 after a 3-putt on our last hole.

courses in South Gippsland closed due to the rain, in some parts as much as 90mm over weekend.
This has lead to the South Gippsland Championship being delayed until Sunday 11th September.
give me more chance to practice.

Stab at Warra yesterday. First round for quite a while, with operations when the weather was good, then pissing down when I could’ve played.
30 points, 30 putts. With only 13 putts on the front nine, the points got well ahead of the putts, but the putts slowly caught up on the back.
Cortisone injection in the hip today. Maybe that will help for tomorrow if we don’t get rained out.

Too wet for carts yesterday although sunshine for most of the day.
Hip is feeling normal again. I might do something radical today, like mow the lawn.
More rain expected this coming week.
    Bring on spring !

A great days sight seeing today which included southern right whales, seals and pelicans.
A break in weather and fine day ahead so decided to play tomorrow at Victor Harbour.
Caravan park has a mini golf course so decide to warm up for big course, by playing 27 holes with the wife..
going well for first 6 holes then the starfish got me on 7th and I ended up with a 6.
    27 for first 9 wife 22
27 for second 9 inc a hole in 1 and starfish got me again on same hole
22 for third 9 1 x hole in ones and the pirate caused me grief on last with 5.
    77 for 27 holes vs wife 68.
sad cause I used my putter and a pro V, wife used shop putter and a cheap no name ball. coloured ball
The high spinning ball like a Pro V , could not apply any backspin and hence is of no use on mini golf, in fact jumped off side walls more than no name ball.
back to playing a vision ball tomorrow.
