I am currently aiming to play Friday- Monday.
Would like to walk where allowed but dont know how “walkable” the non-weekend courses are?
The beige and black jackets look too normal, so lime green gets my vote 🙂

Elanora not to bad a walk a bit hilly Barenski can advise.

Do you need accom any of the nights?

Any recommendations for Sun/Mon night accom?

Frenchs Forest has a dive motel very central, cheap and pub

Ok, back on deck for regular transmission.

That Green Jacket is horrendous..it gets my vote.
At this stage in for days 3-6 (Saturday-Tuesday)

Elanora isn’t a resort course where you can rock up and order a burger or plate of chips, for some of us it’s the golf that is most important and that is where Elanora excels.
If a lunch is of interest after the game I can get something organised, say finger food plates, or if something heavier wanted, let me know, if I give enough notice they can do Gourmet sandwiches.

People should still be treated like people. I prefer not to give my hard earned to those that don’t deserve it.

I can confirm the staff (young ‘lady’) subject was displaying blatant contempt. I witnessed part of what Tony endured.
My reaction was to smile/smirk at her outboynd sneers.
    It happens sometimes, sadly.

TBH, if that’s how they treat visitors, whats the point of allowing visitors in at all? Just reinforces the stereotype of private country club members.

Our club is a level down from El, but I’ve never seen any staff act towards visitors or anyone with obvious disrespect.
Agree with Dave, the course & experience was still awesome..

I got the “if it’s free, it’s for me” special as Barwon is reciprocal with Elanora…and golf shop staff 😉

Elanora is very walkable. We do have Battery MGI buggies to hire @$10 if the cart option breaks the bank. Maybe request to play with me, I know the guy who gives out the cart keys ?
Terrey Hills is probably a longer walk than Elanora, a little less on the hills though.

I also had the pleasure of being served by the young lass behind the bar. Not sure what Tony experienced but I gather it was similar to myself. Although she had the customer service personality of a brick, I have been served by far worse at a few golf clubs of less and similar standard. Doesn’t necessarily excuse her behaviour, but I guess I am just as bad, because when I went back for my 2nd beer, she was at the bar with the young bloke. She enquired as to what I wanted and I ignored her and asked the young fella for a beer. Sort of my way of saying, you may not like having to serve me, but I don’t have to talk to you either.

At the end of the day, the interaction you have with one person should not define the entire establishment. Everyone else I dealt with on that day were most pleasant and accommodating. I guess in the end, no matter where I may be or what type of establishment I am in, I don’t really give a fuck about the persons attitude toward me unless it is downright rude, as long as I get what I asked for.

Oh, and the course was a cracker.

I’ve heard everyone who works there is an arsehole.
