ParticipantI also had the pleasure of being served by the young lass behind the bar. Not sure what Tony experienced but I gather it was similar to myself. Although she had the customer service personality of a brick, I have been served by far worse at a few golf clubs of less and similar standard. Doesn’t necessarily excuse her behaviour, but I guess I am just as bad, because when I went back for my 2nd beer, she was at the bar with the young bloke. She enquired as to what I wanted and I ignored her and asked the young fella for a beer. Sort of my way of saying, you may not like having to serve me, but I don’t have to talk to you either.
At the end of the day, the interaction you have with one person should not define the entire establishment. Everyone else I dealt with on that day were most pleasant and accommodating. I guess in the end, no matter where I may be or what type of establishment I am in, I don’t really give a fuck about the persons attitude toward me unless it is downright rude, as long as I get what I asked for.
Oh, and the course was a cracker.
I’ve heard everyone who works there is an arsehole.
That’s Captain arsehole to you…

ParticipantI booked accom at Chateau Elan at the Vintage – was cheaper but also allowed for cancellation up to a few days before if I need it
Only 5 minutes from the dinner venue

I’d be holding off booking anything. Going to be some serious bargains around. This COVID-19 thing has some serious financial impacts yet to unfold.
By the time you realise this part of my signature doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

ParticipantYeah, I wouldn’t be too surprised if we end up not having the Nats this year. If (or rather when) we go into lockdown mode it is not going to be for a few weeks. It will have to be for months.

Thanks love to hear what you were able to get? Prices will most likely go down though as others have mentioned. We will have to see where things are in a couple of months and decide then.

ParticipantGood thing is that I can cancel at any time if great bargains pop up
It’s also possible that if the shackles come off in Oz but international travel remains risky that people will flood out for holidays locally and prices will head up so we will see
Easy to cancel if I need to

I think we are still adjusting to the new “norm” and live will continue on. Air travel is still relatively safe, though depends on who you sit next too. Take a window seat is the safest sport but dont lick the glass!
People will want to get out as safe as possible and will travel locally.
