Hmmm 10 days away. You might get a spot for the games, but accommodation is going to be a real problem. PM Mads or Goldy.

Unfortunately Dave you are correct. It was a Hail Mary that didn’t come off.
In any case I hope the schedule is amazing, everyone has a n amazing time and I’ll look forward to the next ones.
I will also commit to looking for my golf clubs which I’m sure are around here somewhere…………

I can’t get to that with a full set..? As for the visit, travelling is minimal at the present, but that will change eventually, so quite possible.

ParticipantThanks to everyone involved, I had a blast and even actually played some good golf.
Was wonderful to meet you all, looking forward to the next event.
Thanks to Madam, Barenski, Goldy, Weety and everyone else who helped make the event the success that it was, weather be damned!
And yes, I’ve updated my profile.

ModeratorWell finally, after 3 attempts, the inorg…inargr…the first Live4Golf Nationals have at last been completed. Thank you to all who took part, especially our new players. I hope you enjoyed the experience…it’s more than just about the games of golf. Most of us see each other just this once a year and, to me anyway, it’s like a yearly family reunion…3 years in this case.
Congratulations to all the winners of the various days and big congrats to our National Champion Geoff A (you need to come up with a better handle!). A very consistent performance…one question begs asking though…representing QLD in SOO when you are originally from NSW???? 😛
The weather gods weren’t exactly kind to us, like most of the year really, but getting 5 of the 6 days in was probably better than most expected. For what it’s worth Cypress Lakes (very appropriately named) should not have been open for play, that first 9 was ridiculous.
I was massively disappointed that we were unable to play “my home track”, Elanora. After years of planning we got soooo close but, whilst it would have been better than most, I wanted you all to experience it at its near best. That would not have been the case if we had played on Monday. I did however manage to snag Francie a game there Tuesday afternoon after our Terrey Hills round. No carts so we took pull buggies, quite hard work after 18 holes earlier. Ok Snorkelguru, I have to agree that ECC would be a tougher walk than Terrey Hills 😛 We got 5 holes in before the lightning siren went off…20 mins later we were back on course and we had the place to ourselves, not one other player was sighted for the rest of our 13 holes!
The Brass Yacht Challenge was run for the first time in 3 years and in the end it was a convincing win to myself, 121pts to 100pts…poor Francie just couldn’t string a round together. I truly felt sorry for him, nobody deserves such a trouncing! 😛 Mind you, by this time next year the tables could well and truly be turned after I lost .4 over the weekend to drop to 13 and Francie has gone from starting at 8.5 to 10.5! We’ll be pretty even I think.
I would like to send a massive thanks to our organising team, Goldy, Weeti, Piggy and fearless leader, Madam. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to give great assistance in the couple of weeks leading up to the Nationals so I really appreciate their efforts to make this event a success. As was announced at the dinner on Saturday night, Madam will be stepping away from setting up this event after 2023 in the ACT. Whilst it will be a massive loss for us, it is totally understandable that priorities have take place. Madam has worked his butt of since our first event back in 2012, I’m pretty sure he had a full head of hair then. His efforts over that time have not gone unnoticed an I’m confident that the state groups can keep the L4G Nationals running well into the future
Thank you Mike!
Hopefully everyone had a good uneventful run home…I just wait right here 😉 …and arrived safely.
See ya all in the ACT 2023!
Cheers
Barenski
