Another great event at The Coast today.

A pity that numbers were down for this event, up by normal standards though 😛

Was fantastic that Chris joined us for the day again to celebrate PJ’s life and his birthday.

As is tradition, the day started with the customary toast to PJ followed by a shot of Port/Vanilla Vodka or Scotch.

If only that had inspired some of us to do better, though for the first time at an NSW event every player finished with a 3 in front of their score.

For some, a pathetic start to the day ruined their chances, for others, bolting out of the blocks and peaking too early was their downfall.

Playing with Peppas and Birdie Killer, I started very casually with 2 easy wipes, soon finding myself after another wipe, on 7 points after 7 holes and staring down the barrel at NAGA. 11 points of the first nine…a slight improvement on the back nine, a scratchy par on 10 followed by wipe on the 11th, where you drive off into oblivion not knowing where the green is…a super dog leg left as it turns out. +2 for the next 7 holes including a near HIO on 15 where the ball stopped an agonisingly 20cm short. As per usual the group ahead saw nothing! 22 points on the way home but that was not good enough to stop “crippleguru” who pulled a hammy days out, from taking the chocolates with 38 points..he’s finally found the secret, slow and steady wins the race, apparently even his wedge was working!

Afterwards we all enjoyed a sumptuous lunch in the clubs restaurant, including a delicious Caramel Nutella cake, which Peppas was drooling over, making sure not one skerrick of cream was left on the wrapping.

So the results of the day:
    Winner – Snorkelguru 38pts
    R/UP – Birdie Killer 34pts
    3rd – Barenski 33pts
    4th – Peppas 31pts
    5th – Greywolfe 30pts c/b
    6th – Commish 30pts
Commish was a bit miffed that he retained the NAGA with 30pts! LOL!

Thanks to all that attended and those that couldn’t play but contributed to the cause, raising $730 for PJ’s Beyond Blue page.
I will update the OOM results soon.

    Cheers
    Cpt Barenski

Congrats crippleguru! Nice playing on one good hammy.

Thanks to barnesy and BK for a great round. Lots of laughs as always. Highlight was barnesys shot on the par 3 which was short of the pin for a hole in one. It looked short the whole way if I have to be honest 🙂

As always, great to celebrate PJ on his birthday. Thanks to Chris for coming along and being a part of the day, I’ve no doubt everyone enjoys your company and appreciates you being there.

Another great day out with the L4G crew for PJ’s birthday. Nice and cool and just a little wind. Perfect conditions really. Thanks to my playing partners wolfy and commish. Thanks for organizing barnesy and congratulations on the new job.
Straining my hammy was probably a good thing, haven’t hit that many fairways in yonks and the wedge and putter behaved as well. Pigs may fly yet/ Will definitely be going back to the coast, decent layout and the kikuyu grass definitely does well for my chipping as pepps the cake eater observed.

As always, great to see you Chris and looking forward to all the photos.

Solid rounds from everyone, especially from pepps and barnesy to turn around a great front 9. Also don’t know who hit up on me on the 7th past the drain, but glad were keeping the tradition alive :D. thanks for the beers BK and Wolfy

Looking forward to twilight at elanora with you lot.

Not much more to be said that hasn’t already. thanks to Capt Barenski for his organisation skills once again. They will hold him in good staid in the upcoming new employment challenge. A big congrats on that one. A big thanks to Chris for doing what you did at the end of day. Very much appreciated. I suppose I better say thanks to the two Gorillas, Snorkel and Wolfy, who I had the pleasure of hitting 40m behind on most occasions, be it off the tee or otherwise.

A solid all round performance by the Snork to get the bacon. I am no coach by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know of a couple that preach….”70% will get you solid golf.. Get that right and then you can build on it.” Perhaps there is something to those words of wisdom. Something Wolfy found as well when he was not trying to hit the ball into next week. Enjoyed the company of Chris for 15 holes and was excellent to catch up and have a chat about a few things. As always Chris, a pleasure to see you and thanks for the efforts you put in.

Just one clarification for Capt Barenski…. at no stage was I miffed about getting NAGA with 30 pts. I was totally PISSED OFF. Hopefully circumstance permit me to make the OOM #3 at Elanora, no matter what the tee time is or what is being served for lunch.

Another highly successful PJ Memorial Day despite the limited attendance.
It was nice to catch up with the NSW gang again after almost a year in my case.
I was about to pull out due to logistic issue but glad that I eventually made it.
Big thanks to captain Barenski for the organisation and talked me into making an effort to be there. Congrats on your new role btw.
Thanks Chris for joining us, always lovely to see you.
Thanks to my playing partners Peps and Barenski, great to catch up and seeing some decent golf on display especially the near miss of an ace by Barenski on the 15th.
Congrats Snorkleguru on the win, a master of bluffing game you are, perhaps you have found your new swing at 70%.
Looking forward to next game at Elanora.

Yesterday was the 5th year a fine group of golfing fanatics gathered for the Paul Jordison – Live4Golf Memorial Golf Day.

After a rather early start to make my way down to southern parts of Sydney I arrived with a good few minutes to spare before the toast and then tee off. Whilst there was no rain it was still windy, cold and overcast.

My thanks to Barenski for again organising this event, it truly is the highlight of my year. Congratulations to Snorkleguru on his magnificent win this year. Thank you BK, Peppas, Commish, Wolfy and Jacob for also attending. I know there were many more of you who had wanted to attend and were not able, I know your thoughts were there and we missed you x.

I walked the first 3 holes with Barenski, Peppas and BK thanks for the chats and laughs. From there I jumped in a cart with Commish and joined Wolfy and Snorkleguru. Lots of chatting and laughs there also. Thanks for sharing the cart with me Commish I always love the yearly catch up.

I didn’t take a lot of photos this year as I was afraid the shutter sound might have put the gents off of their game. The few I do have will be uploaded a few at a time. There are also a few short videos but they are too large to post here. I will try to post them in the FB page.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch, food was good so was the coffee as was the company 🙂 HUGE thanks to Peppas and Snorkleguru for coming to the rescue with a wonderful cake after my disaster.

From me personally and all of Paul’s family – thank you for all that you do in caring and looking out for each other and for the fundraising you do for Beyond Blue and for raising awareness.

    Much love to you all
