ParticipantAfter the L4G NSW inaugruwal yesterday there was some discussion about large greens so I figured a new topic about the largest green you’ve ever played would not be out of place.
For me it’s the “longest green in the world” at The European club in Ireland. It is 127 yards long. I misjudged my approach and hit it about 50 meters past the hole and was very happy with a three putt from there!

Participantpersonally of the golf courses i’ve played, cape shanck at mornington peninsula stands out as one with monstrous and fiendish greens. you wouldn’t want to be playing a greenkeeper’s revenge on that course.
The par 4 6th (sticks in my mind) as a drivable par 4 for longish hitters. I have driven it and 4 putted it (this was when my putting was actually half decent).April 29, 2020 at 10:55 am #11203koiom

KeymasterThe 16th at Moonah Legends is the largest green I’ve seen, as Geoff mentioned. If you’re in the wrong spot there, a 5 putt isn’t out of the question.
The 1st at The Nationals Old course is also treacherous if the pin is on the top level left, and you’re anywhere on the bottom level right. Again…4 putts wouldn’t be uncommon.
And loving the 4 putt story from Sid. Especially the bit about being a half decent putter. Sorry buddy 🙂

Just as well he drove the green though, christ knows what he would have scored if he had put a wedge in his hand at some point.
sorry Snorks..

Yes, but I think even Sid will admit that they are his mystery clubs. You, or more to the point, He, just never knows what is going to happen. Generally, not what he expects..
A bit like every club that I put in my hand at present..:(

Yep…I’m inclined to agree. Based on the last time we played…Barwon…his putting was ok. But some of the rest of it…wedges especially…was more than a little bit scary.

you did well to only have 4 putts. it really depends on the hole location1 user liked this post.

Hey I have my standards and you have yours. Mine are pretty low when it comes to the game within the game. i find myself to be pretty good when everyone else follows my method of closing eyes while im putting.
