A few guys have already said 23/2. The details of format etc can be worked out until then and if not, does it really matter if the OOM stuff isn’t sorted by then?

Let’s take a vote. Which date is best for I-HATG 2020? 23/2 or 1/3? Reply with your preference.

If you wish to host your own I-HATG then whatever date suits you and the majority. But as far as the L45 NSW OOM goes,
    No Capt… No game.

Sorry, what do you mean about no captain no game? Remember I’ve never done this before… 😉

You are fine to organise a game for whoever wants to play and we love to see that happen.

To be an official OOM game though it needs to be run via the state Captain or organising committee.

23/2 is out at B anniversary so what about the 3/1? Though Commish and fam may not be there then?

    Welcome to L4G!;)

    Thanks Madam,

I was thinking since we’re supposed to have the first OOM game soon it might be a good idea to have this one be that game maybe?

Who is the state captain? Should I hand over responsibility for this to him?

It would be good to catch up with a few old ISG:ers again. It’s been a while since Nats now. 😉

Pyl it is a great idea and thanks for bringing it up as that is how we can grow the group.

Barneski is the NSW Chief. If its 23/2 then a no go for him to organise as he has an anniversary that day. Maybe 1/3 can work for everyone still?

    I’m fine with either dates.

Barenski: What do you think, should this be the first OOM comp of the year or are there others lined up?

Sorry Pyl, I should have explained a bit better from the outset. The NSW mob have had a number of names over the years since around 2007 I do believe. In that time, ISG Barnesy has been the founder, group Captain, organiser, prize gatherer and all manner of other things. ( although sometimes reluctantly, or so he makes out) Originally it was the NCCSSC group, signifying – Newcastle – Central Coast – Sydney – South Coast and a game was played in each area during the year with the final game being played at The Potato Farm, oops sorry, Barnesy’s spiritual home at The Springs. There were good times and bad, but number declines and trying to find a day and type of course that suited everyone became a tad difficult. Moving forward, the good Captain thought it prudent that the NSW mob utilise the same or similar format that our brethren in Victoria and Qld use being an Order Of Merit system for scoring and tallying points for an overall champ at end of year.

With the advent of L4G OOM Barnesy transitioned into Barenski and remains El Capitan of the group. He sets the dates in consultation with his avid followers and attends to all things necessary to have the day run as they do. Hence, No Capt – No Game.

It is great that you want to get involved and hopefully you will make it to a few of the other games during the year. The 23rd suits me as I am down there, but if it was to become the 1/3/20 I would still attend. A starting time of around the 9am mark would be nice though to allow for travel.

Having said that, as stated before, if you still want to have a hit prior to the 1/3 and between the 13th and 23rd Feb. I’m free……

Hey pyl, there will be other games during the year, last year was an exception as I was just too busy to get them organised.

We usually have 5 rounds a year…February/March April July September and the COC in late November.
However with the Nationals being in NSW this year it will more than likely be March, May/June, September (L4G Memorial) October (Nationals) and November.

Despite Commishs’ No Capt No Play I’m happy for someone else to run it if I’m not available…I cannot do the 23/2 otherwise I’ll no longer be celebrating anniversaries.

1/3 15/3 22/3 29/3 are my March dates (daughter getting married on 7th hence why no 8/3 in there).

So off you go with preferred dates.

Looks like 1/3 might be the best then since Commish has commited to coming down for that! 😉

Bookings for 1/3 opens in two days. I might be able to block a few tee times before then if we go for that date.

How many players do you think we might get? Would two tee times be enough? Do we put this up on ISG as well to try and get more people across to the new forum?

Edit: I’m fine with you captaining it. I have no wish to get into that quagmire if I don’t have to! 🙂

You fell perfectly into Brenski trap. He has been trying to get out out Captain role for years!

    Thanks for volunteering!

Let me know the details I’ll update our main calendar and you can start a new thread.
