ParticipantWelcome back NAGA Fans. I will not concede to being a Golfer.
1st round back – 8 lost balls and 20 points off The White Tees. No comp so bit of a meh round.
2nd round – 7 lost balls and again 20 points of the Blues. 11 and 7 or soemthing. It was woeful. Comp round so it is in GL.
3rd round – playing off 20 and it was Par off the White Tees. The cabbage had been trimmed and Gardiners Run looked a treat.
+1 and -4 for a -3 which got me under 100 and kept the GA at 21.3.Putting and short game were good, only one 3 putt. Ok off the tee, although it cost me on 16, 17 and 18 when I ran out of gas and wiped all three holes.
Very happy to be back out there, goodness me have we here in Victoria been through it these last 3 months.See ya’ll at Yering. I will no doubt be a big chance to finish last. Apologies in advance to the poor sad sacks I will be playing with.

Need some WD40 to clear that rust up?
People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantPar off The Blue Teeson Saturday. Hit off the 10th, as we are back to a two tee start, thank fark.
Daily HCP of 25 (GA 21.3)
Playing with two Social Players and my Marker, was playing off the White Tees.
First Tee shot had me in trouble up the right and my bunt out hit another tree, so 3 shots used up before I even got past the bunkers on the top of the hill on the 10th.
Two good shots got me down and off the fringe with one shot to half the hole. Which I missed by a very small margin.
Played some great golf to have a chance of getting to square on the 18th, but missed a getable putt again, to finish -1.My playing partner was also -1 so pretty happy to be only one down.
On the next none, our front 9, the 7w of goodness decided to hurt me, and hurt me bad. My trusty fading bunts became high curling hooks and it cost me on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes. To compond the poor approach shots, I also lipped out half putts on 2 and 4 a + putt on 3. I had a brain fade on the 5th, bashing a putt off the fringe through the back of the green and then after being the only one in our group to hit the fairway and be in play on 6, and then hit a pure 3w 165m uphill to the fringe, I three putted again, another lip out. This continued on 7 where again, a good recovery to the green saw my + putt lip out. 7w hurt me again on 8 but I managed to half the hole, while 9 saw me two shot out of the bunker and finish with a half there for 6 halves and 3 minues, for a total of -4 for the day.
I felt I got what I deserved, but if and only are always going to leave you with the same result, -4.
I managed for the 2nd round in a row, not to lose a ball, so you are correct in assuming the rough at Gardiners Run has been cleared and cut back to be a short first cut and mown areas between the fairways. For reasons I cannot explain Golflink has my round carded as a daily HCP of 23, and a score of -6. No biggy there, as I still got a played to 23.5, and 0.1 came off the GA HCP. This brings me in a shot on my daily HCP, so off 19 in Seniors Monthly Medal Stroke on Friday (White Tees).
I’m seriuosly considering playing off the White Tees for all competition from now on as the bonus factor for playing off the Blues is only a few shots, and the played too only 3. At least my scores off the whites are easier to undertand.NAGA

Participant2nd Rd of Senior Club Championship and almost redeemed myself.
Lost my ball on the 2nd and finished up with a 9.
Stuck at it and got around the front on 50. 4 over the HCP.
Solid on the back and finished off with a 240m drive and a7i to the fringe. Drained the 30 ft putt for birdie. 44 and 50 for 94.
Nett 74 and the cap is now 20.9.NAGA

ParticipantWhen you are over 55 you can play the Senior Tour. It’s $1 less for the comp as well.
Played 3rd rd of champs (stroke) yesterday playing off 19, and started par, par bogey bogey par. Spud got me on the 6th and finished with an 8.(bunt out of left hazard went sideways and into right hazard. Should have taken a drop)
Still got round in 44 with another par on 7 before going bogey bogey.
More Spuds on the 10th, 12th, and 17th saw me shoot 54 on the back 9. Par on the 18th after again 240m drive up and over the hill and 7i.
Got to find a way to keep up the concentration and stop swaying on the back foot (the dreaded reverse pivot).
HCP score was 33 pts with 3 scrubs so came in .1. HCP 20.8NAGA

Participant107 + 94 +98 = 299.
good effort Mick in Club championships.
the middle round was good. what was your target score going in.
what was winning scores for C grade gross and net.Its good to play stroke rounds because every shot counts, and no such thing as a wipe which helps test game.
sometimes its difficult to change from stableford mode to stroke round mode..December 7, 2020 at 5:46 pm #14518iRON MiCK
ParticipantIt was a poor effort, but I learned some things about playing in a 3 round comp.
I sort of lost interest after blowing out to 5 over after the tenth in the first round, and then just didn’t care, shooting double bogey on the 7 of the next 8 holes. If I had changed my mind set, and decide, no more giving up, I could have possibly got back in to it, with a 97 instead of 107.
I don’t think it would have mattered much. Only A and B grade net.Pretty sure the Winner who plays off +2 killed it. He had a net 68 in the last round.
