Were you on your side when you took the selfie mate?

For some reason that’s how they load after I shrink them

So I’ve just gone with it

Thanks. Well add to list but wonder why only yours?

    No idea

Maybe the app I used to shrink it?

Sure, sure, blame an app for your shrinkage.

Played Oxley today. 2 groups of us and we played so great that I won the pot with a 17 15 32 point round off 11 – 40 and 47 for 15 over off the stick

Almost had my first hole in one – 8i hit the flag rolling but didn’t drop ?

    8 pars 5 bogies 5 doubles

6/14 fairways- dropped 3 shots from drives, a push into trees, a hook into a hazard, and a slight pull draw that managed to finish in a bush (aimed left edge)

    7 GIR + 4 Texas- dropped 2 shots from a 5i punch into a tree into a hazard, 1 1/2 from bad iron shots and 1 from a thin PW – so 4 1/2 all up

    4/11 up and downs – dropped 6 1/2:
    1/2 8i
    0/2 AW
    0/1 SWS
0/1 LW – 1/2 a shot because the 5i off the tee before was a huge push to poor ground behind a bunker
    2/4 Texas

33 putts – 1 3 putt – putted ok but usually too soft on slow bumpy greens (which are getting cored tomorrow

Overall there was some good golf, a bit of bad luck (2 flags hit by rolling balls and neither dropped), and some rubbish including 4 doubles in a row from 11 to 14 which included 2 par 5s

Next week BF at Gailes so hopefully play better

    Dropped 0.3 to 10.6

Another round that could have been good but I fell apart. Whites at Gailes of 12 and had 18 points on the front then couldn’t manage a par on the back until 18 and came in with 12 points for 30.

Statistically my short game cost me the most but since I was so often hitting out of the trees and only had 4 GIR the long game just put me under so much pressure that it has to share blame.

I actually hit a number of good lob wedge chips over bunkers and got out of the sand mostly well, but they aren’t going to be simple up and downs. I was generally a bit wussy with my more straightforward chips and texas wedges and only made 6/18 up and downs because I dropped 2 longish putts from 25 and 10 feet.

Another flag free round at Robina Woods next week and then a 10.8 drops. Need to find more fairways. Not just with driver (which was 4/11) but 3h was a bit hookey (0/3) and missed with 5i as well.

My return to Queensland golf wasn’t too good yesterday. 17 over 88 at Surfers Paradise. Driver was off which wasn’t good on such a tight course – but it wasn’t on its lonesome by a long way.

Got some unlucky breaks too which definitely cost me on the scorecard.

    Onwards and upwards though

    Or downwards rather

Well the ball striking wasn’t quite as good today but it wasn’t too bad at Moonah Open. The course was in excellent condition although the greens were surprisingly slow even though they looked schmick.

Finished with 3 over 39 front for 19 and 8 over 43 back for 19 as well so 10 over and 38 points

    9 pars 8 bogies 1 double

8/14 fairways – driver wasn’t too bad today but cost me from a low hook into a bunker on 8 requiring a SW escape

8 GIR – a few poor shots but mostly hit the ball ok. Had a few hooks that made pars difficult but overall not too bad. Dropped 2 shots from a hooked 7i into a bunker left on 13 which left no realistic up and down as the ball rolled way down the hill, a thin PW from the heavy rough on 14 requiring an AW wedge from the same rough next shot. Thin 7i on 15 and hooked 9i on 16 and 17 left extremely difficult pars but I gave the drops to my short game below.

2/8 up and downs – technically 1 bit again 1 was from a bad putt inside 3ft. Dropped 5 shots – 4 from Texas wedges, 1 8i chip on 15 which was a good chip as I was in a difficult position.

36 putts + 4 Texas – dropped 2 shots from a 3 putt (from 60ft at least so the 9i before shares a lot of the blame), and a short miss on 10. Putted much better and made some good second putts after short first putts on the slow greens.

Very happy with the 10 over on a challenging course and got me down to 10.0 handicap.

How does 3 over on the front 9, then 8 over on the back 9, equal 10 over for the round?

It’s pretty much an up and down course – not very interesting

    But it’s still golf

Not super long. Some holes pretty narrow and large trees each side of fairway

Can be in good shape but also can be very average

Flat course Being short game and you can score

More frustrating rubbish today for 30 points at Robina Woods from a shotgun start off 15, playing off 12

    Started double birdie par bogey
The the front nine was 7 bogeys followed by 2 doubles
Finished with a wipe to put the cream on the cake

My short game is improving in the sense of not hitting any mishits but my touch isn’t good enough and I didn’t make any putts of note today – just a couple of 4-6 ft 2nd putts

30 points with 2 birdies is crap

Tee wasn’t too bad although a bit of luck saved a 3h

Dropped 9 shots from poor iron and wedge shots – very very bad

8 over on the short game with only 2 up and downs despite plenty of fairly straightforward chipa

Better sharpen up Slick before you get to The Flats – don’t need another chopper in our four as that’s my role.

You went out there and try your best. Seriously, I would be absolutely super happy if I get 30. Wow, you are very lucky, you golf different course every week. You must know a lot of movers and shakers golfers.

Weeti is the club mascot stalwart for a social golf group based in SE Qld. They play different courses each couple of weeks. I think it’s because they’re not allowed back to a course due to shenanigans. Something to do with gumboots, goats and, ah, I’ll let you use your imagination…

You’ll be 2 shots better than me then so I’m taking over chopper duties!
