ParticipantGood stuff! Before you know it you won’t have any 2017 games in your 20 handicap rounds!
Yeah 2023 should see some movement..?♂️
It turns out I have 9 games from 2017 in my last 20, so I’m thinking Commish is right on the money.
You blokes should get out there and play a bit more. Golf can be fun.
The oldest round in my last 20 is 3 Nov, six weeks ago. Some people have a life..
20 rounds every 6 weeks sounds like a life I could deal with tbh
You can look forward to it in 25 yrs when you retire. Prior to that you have a working life to lead. You did however get a taste of it whilst in the unemployed transition stage..?
25yrs until ‘retirement’? Only if he’s 25 now … no one works full time past 50 these days, do they?
Unfortunately I have been. I’ve done 11 years since I turned 50 as full time and SHIFT WORK. I think I’ve earned some part time…..which starts tomorrow. 🙂
Enjoy Frank

ParticipantPlayed Helensvale as the last 2020 game for Brisbane Fairways
Ambrose which worked well after the huge downpours here as there were some very soggy parts to the course todayWe got 5th with a 2 over 70 off the stick which was net 64.75
Feel like I hit the ball pretty well – some poor results from trying to play some go for it shits after the partner put shots in play
Good fun

so, is this where / how / why you often describe your golf as poo?
By the time you realise this part of my signature doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

After reading that earlier, my first thought was that the ‘poor results’ might have been quite messy.
People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantMy golf at times could definitely be described that way
All those ways

ParticipantPlayed Pacific today in their comp. Played ok but didn’t have a lot of luck – good luck anyway – and no putts fell so didn’t score top great.
Off 10
14 back with 45 shots
19 front with 40 shots
33 points and 85 shots net 757 pars 9 bogies 2 doubles
9/14 fairways – dropped 1 shot with a topped 3 hybrid. Overall drove it decently.
7 GIR – first nice – the back – I dropped a couple of shots from punches out of trees that went much higher that I wanted and clipped trees. Also topped a MD into the water on the 9th our last hole, and got under a LW off the tee on a par 3 which put me in the water. So 4 shots dropped.
3/8 up and down:
0/3 LW chips – none were terrible but they weren’t close enough
2/3 PW chips/pitches – not too bad
0/1 LW sand – good shot and probably should have made it
1/1 Texas36 putts – 3 dropped from 2 3 putts and 1 missed up and down inside 6ft
Could have been a decent round if a couple of putts dropped

ParticipantThat sounds like you had a lot of missed shots Weeti, but still ended up grinding out a reasonable score. Anything above 30 points is an O.K outcome.

ParticipantYeah – the final score was decent – it was the start that got me
Double 1pt
Bogie 1pt
Bogie 1pt
Double wipe
6 shots out of 10 gone in 4 holes30 points for the remaining 14 holes was much better – happy with that

ParticipantPigskin got us a game at Brookwater today
I played off 11 off the gold teesHad 42 front for 17 points and 41 back for 19 points
So 11 over 83 off the stick and 36 points which was a played to 8
Dropped a 6.6 today so handicap went up from 9.0 to 9.29 pars 7 bogies 2 doubles
8 /14 + 1 nearly fairways – drove it pretty decently but deiver cost me 2 shots: a slice on 1 and a pull on 18, and mini driver cost me a shot pushed into trees
7 GIR + 5 Texas – dropped 2 shots from a pushed 5i on 2 and a pulled 4i on 6, but plenty of good shots. Got away with a couple of thin approaches into short par 3s – pars on both. Overall not too bad.
6/9 up and down:
4/5 Texas
0/1 8i chip – really wussed it
1/1 SW chip – almost holed it
0/1 LW chip – bit wussy
1/1 LW sand – almost holed it
Pretty decent result overall. Still a bit sooky chipping though.33 putts – 3 3 putts was disappointing and again after Pacific couldn’t drop anything significant
Very happy to have a good round at a tough course
Playing Maroochy River on Thursday so hopefully can post something really solid there – and maybe get a birdie!December 30, 2020 at 9:09 am #14714Ink
