Weetbix, have a look at the recent YT video from Steve Johnstone on putter grip. I started using it and improved a lot.

Crappy round at Emerald Lakes on Sunday off 6
3 doubles were the worst scores but didn’t hit greens and didn’t make many up and downs so bogey train most of the day
24 points and 90 off the stick in heavy gusty winds was middle of the pack for the day
    +3 difficulty in Golflink!

Off to Gainsborough Greens this weekend

You need to come to Victorian coastal golf courses for wind desensitization training Weetbix

Played Gainsborough Greens off 8 today
Didn’t feel like I played very well but 2 birdies covered some flaws and I ended up with 9 over 81 for 35 points

    Handicap dropped to 9.4

Putted fine which was a nice change – both birdies were longish putts
Only 3/11 up and downs was disappointing
Some poor iron shots cost me
Only 1 dropped shot off the tee although I did have a little luck on 1 drive, but a bit of bad luck on others tested the approach game

Pacific Harbour next weekend will definitely test the golf game
It’s a brute if you aren’t striking it well

Finally a decent round at a damp Maroochy River
Despite 150mm of rain the course was very playable
But unusually the greens were very receptive – they are usually the firmest we play – and the wind wasn’t blowing too hard so that helped scoring

    3 bogies and 6 pars for a 39 front
2 weak shots on 10 left me short right in some pretty soggy ground and my attempted LW chip went under the ball which popped up right into the path of my follow through which sent the ball sailing high and landing softly about 6 ft from the pin and a good putt meant a lucky par to start the back nine
More pars and then a birdie on 14 meant I was 1 under for the back nine standing on the tee on 17 but a pushed drive that hit the path and catapulted into the water and a 3 putt meant a double and that was the end of my chance to have a 9 hole score under par – I’ve had a few on par but never below
Almost birdied the last but ended 1 over for the back so 4 over 76

    Down to 8.9

    Thanks mate
I so would have liked to have made that sub par 9 – but no complaints for sure
This is how I’d like to play golf
Hills next week – see if I can at least keep it at handicap which will be 10

    You can do it Weetie!

    Thanks Mads

If I can start playing close to that level consistently then I might be able to move from a telescope into binoculars!

    You definitely have the skill.

What “feelings” on the day can you take away and try to emulate for future rounds?

    Probably 2 things
Feeling the pressure in my left foot – helps stop me getting stuck on my right foot
And having that picture in my mind of the ball rolling to my aim point when putting

    Played at Hills today
Was as green as I’ve ever seen it – the growing conditions here is Queensland are as good as they can be
So it was great to see it in such good condition – relatively of course
We did have a good storm come through at 2am which dumped 25mm on the course so it was a bit damp – bunkers were out and it was preferred lie as usual so that wasn’t a problem
Greens were a bit shaggy but have a good coverage of grass
    It was very enjoyable

Had 40 for 19 points on the back then matched that with 40 for 19 points on the front off 10, which was very pleasing

Replaced an 8.3 flag with a played to 8.1
No change to handicap at 8.9

Scoring amongst our group of 12 was excellent with the winner having 42, a couple of 40s, a 39, 3 38s – that’s good scoring
    Our group had 42 39 38 38 – I think that’s the highest scoring group I’ve ever played in

Stroke round at Carbrook next Sunday which is the BF Matchplay qualifier so hopefully I play will again
