ParticipantOverrated IMO. Very exy green fees ($130 for members guest, I paid $95 as it was some kind of promo day. Course itself (I played North Course) is in great condition. Greens are hard and FAST. Fairways are tight and if you can get off the tee with driver or 3 wood, it’s a short wedge to most greens on the front 9 but holding those shots is much more difficult than it seems. Fun course to play, great renovations but not in the same league as Metro, Kingston Heath, RM etc. no matter how much they wanna be. A $10k joining fee, $5k subs and an entry process (known 4 full members at least 4 years who have to vouch for you that you will uphold the values of the club). Please. I guess a long waiting list says I’m wrong but golfers are always seduced by the shiny & new.

ParticipantPlayed the North course back when the weather was decent late last year.
The practice green is at least a quarter acre in size, and its manicured to perfection, so you get a good idea of what its going to be like.
Placement off the tee is the key to getting around as there are some very tight holes particularly at driver distance (bunkers encroaching), there is great conditioning all over the joint though, as they have spent more than the odd sheckle or two on it.
The greens are big, swaley, but subtle and offer a host of pin positions..
Highlight hole for me was the shortish par 4 18th, a dogleg left, which gives you the choice of multiple teeing off clubs, and a big fairway bunker on the inside corner, to avoid. The tee shot is followed by a mid to short iron into an “amphitheatre style” green surrounded by bunkers, which sits right below the clubhouse windows. Just a bloody fun hole to play and a great end to the round.
Well worth the drive down to Franghanistan I thought ….
