Looked up Dan’s register of interests lodged with Parliament. He is no longer an honary member at Keysborough. Apparently he resigned to avoid a conflict when they embarked on the redevelopment proposal. Given the proposal needs a planning scheme amendment to be approved by the Planning Minister you could understand that he wouldn’t want to be appear to have an interest in Minister Richard Wynne’s decision..

ParticipantHow many adult golfers are registered in Victoria?
That’s how many votes Dan won’t get at the next state election.
You can add people who fish to that list tooYou’ll need to convince someone else to.vote against him so you get to vote against him in both of your pursuits

ParticipantHe has an honary membership at KH. He is a paid up member somewhere else.
Apparently he is a golf tragic, might be going harder on golfers to avoid appearance of bias.
I think he is a paid up member at Huntingdale

ParticipantNanny state of not, I for one have been very pleasantly surprised by how the politicians are handling this issue. On both a federal level and at a state level they are doing very well I reckon. The amount of lives lost here is but a drop in the ocean.
It is also nice to see very little in the way of criticism from their relevant oppositions. If this goes on for much longer, people may have to lift their opinion of pollies from the “self interested pond scum” level.

ParticipantI don’t think he is a member at Huntingdale because its not disclosed on his register of interests return lodged with Parliament. KH and Wang are on the return.

Absolutely agree, mutual cooperation State and Federal also great.
State govt are taking it pretty serious. I work for the State we have had constant comms about it since early Feb and our teams are in our 4th week of working from home. Due to some medical issues I was encouraged to start working from home a couple weeks earlier.

It is a pleasant change. But once it is all over you can bet your arse, or anyone else’s for that matter, that the opposition at Federal and State level will be saying with the benefit of hindsight, …. “We would have done this” … and “We would have done that.” I bet ya the Vic opposition will be saying, ” We would have allowed the opening of golf courses with social distancing practices in place.” Sure to get them a few extra votes.
The one thing that I do want to see happen though is that a few arses get severely kicked in NSW Health for the debacle that is the Ruby Princess. The ability for those passengers to be let on their merry way has caused an absolute nightmare in every State. I would go so far as to say that the infection rate would have been halved, if not more, if that ship had of been quarantined at the outset.

absolutely impossible to disagree with this.
One thing that did strike me was watching the press conference some time ago with the State CMO and Minister Hazzard saying that the information they received from the ship was that there was testing done when they’d docked in NZ and it came back that it was flu and the punters who were tested did not have Covid-19. Whether that is them washing their hands of their role or as I do see it, they acted on the “genuine” information that they had at the time.
Hopefully the inquiry will uncover some of the facts, but that whores has bolted and the last thing we ultimately want is processes to now be put into place for everyday travel that won’t be commensurate with “everyday” life when we do get back to normal.April 23, 2020 at 9:26 am #11111BumpunRun

Absolutely shocking news.
Shame about the poor coppers and their families.
WTF was the truckie doing, momentary lack of concentration, fell asleep? A simple mistake and he’ll be in the can for 20 years.
As for the crim in the Porsche, he jumped the fence. If he was still locked up, none of that would’ve happened.
Who let the dog out? Butterfly effect.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.

Thanks Bump…appreciate that. Bloody busy shift last night and I didn’t get too much time to think until I got home. Tragic for everyone involved and their families. Someone said, “There’s worse things in life than a bad golf round.” 🙁

I got a phone call (during the mayhem) from NSW and Qld police passing on their condolences. Very nice of them to pass that on.
