And back to back 38s…played the Frog with Lingus…41 for him, thank you very much. Was off the plates today, but thankfully very little wind. Off 19, pars on 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 16. 20/18. No wipes…but had a couple of handy point saves…on 3 and 8 from memory. Will drop to mid 15s after today, and it’ll cost me a shot at Keysie tomorrow…off 16 there I think.

Been a pretty good weekend thus far.

@ least with WHS he’ll get a quick handicap adjustment.

Have to wonder how 45 cap shoots 20 shots better than cap. I’m guessing new player, new cap. If so, his cap will tumble dramatically under WHS.

I think it was more the point that a handicap of 45 is now available. To anyone.

We chose to stick with 36 for Brisbane Fairways
If you can’t play to it that’s fine but you aren’t winning prizes until you can

And that sounds perfectly reasonable. I’m not sure how may clubs have adopted the new limit. But it seems a little ridiculous that you can shoot 117 and play to handicap.

Its all relevant isnt it? A 30 cap, 20, 10 cap whats the diff, it is what it is- some people just arent good and will never be and shooting 130 is their norm..

Main thing would be that the handicap is not a new one, but based on enough rounds to know its consistent with what a person may shoot.

I guess at some point we chose a limit for where you are competing in the sport vs going out and having a bash

36 is totally arbitrary I suppose but 2 shots a hole is as reasonable as any other limit

It’s probably a little rough on those who for physical reasons max out at say 160m with driver as they need a shot a hole just to get to the green – but then they generally are also a bit less sideways too so there’s a bit of an offset

So apparently I only post up the good rounds…probably explains the low post count…so a couple of updates since last Sunday.

Played Keysie on Monday in a group with Carson, Peaksy and the Sex Machine. 29 points…only one wipe, but a fuktonne of bunker shots…the sand on the back 9 that we started on was very fine and plentiful…left 3 in there. 12 points with a wipe. Much firmer sand on the front, 17 points, no wipes. Playing off 16, parred both the holes I didn’t get shots on.

97 net 80 today on the Valley at YM. Was travelling ok other than a 2-drowned ball 8 on the par 4 15th, and after 13 holes, was only a couple down to handicap. Had an 8 on the par 5 23rd, a 5 on the par 3 25th, and a drowned ball 7 on the par 5 26th. 97 including two 8s and a 7 (11 over on 3 holes) – so 14 over on the remainder, pretty much on handicap.

Another stroke round tomorrow. Same layout.

And in unrelated news…we got the text from work yesterday – we’re all working from home until the end of March at least.

Can working from home be anywhere you can get an internet connection? Asking for a treasured acquaintance.
