KeymasterJust when you thought it would go away (Frank)…it’s back! With a new home…
Now…the committee haven’t really held a meeting on this, but I’ve decided to carry this on in the same fashion as everything else that we’ve brought over from the old joint.
And at the moment, this is going to get harder if we continue with only one grade for the year…just sayin….
Updated after results in from the Frog…today…15 games criteria….
1. BRIGGSY, a.k.a CB59…a.k.a you’re close, but not quite good enough…(21 OOMs, avg 32.76)
2. Frank…remains in second…and that’s all she wrote…(42, 32.21)
3. Inkosi…the man with the swing of a scratch marker…immediately followed by the swing of some dude who wandered onto the course wearing slippers…(30, 31.57)And for those interested in the other end of the spectrum….tWpthnwaoom?
1. OldBogey…maybe if he could at least recognise his own pants…or turn up when carts are allowed…or it isn’t wet…or his uterus hasn’t prolapsed…(19 OOMS, avg 27.53)
2. Wasabipea_Shooter…clearly knowing the composition of Richmond’s best coaching panel, individual ratings of the SEN commentators, the ambient temperature, tee colour, course rating and slope is no help at all…(26, 29.15)
3. Bucks…worst home tracker since the Gold Coast Suns…(26, 29.15)What about…tWpthwaoom? (not counting N grade)
1. Iron Maiden (Won Yearly Overall, 32 OOMS, avg 26.81)
2. Ozdevil (Won OOM, 30, 27.50)
3. Lt Dan (Won B grade, 27, 27.59)Or tBthwaoom?
1. Kiwi (Won everything…bastard…. 42 OOMs, Avg 33.71)
2. Ari (Won everything, 30, 33.30)
3. wOzz (Won A Grade, 25, Avg 33.28)And as for the NAGA….using the 15 game criteria…
The BEST players to “win” NAGA…
1. FRANK…TOP OF THE LIST BUDDY…(1 NAGA, 42 OOMs, 32.21)
2. Tigerblood (1 NAGA, 19 OOMs, avg 31.37)
3. Bully (1 NAGA, 35, 31.46)The worst…
1. Iron Maiden (7 NAGAs, 32 OOMs, avg 26.81)…seven…Michael…seven….my goodness
2. Ozdevil (3 NAGAs, 30, 27.50)
3. Deege (1 NAGA, 27, Avg 27.59)Until we reconvene at the Mount Derrimut Golf, Pony and Petanque Country Club in April….

ParticipantGreat to see the Longest Acronym Named Trophy in sport find it’s rightful place at, ummm, the new place.
Given the amount of OOMs and players through the joint over the years, this is a compelling list. Has Frank played the most OOM’s as well? Maybe there needs to be a % weighting/adjustment of number of starts to lack of success to get him back to the top?
Smoldy. That is all.

The Best Player To Have Never Won An Order Of Merit
The Melbourne crew have been playing OOMs for some years, surely it’s at least 10 years by now.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.
Progress is man's ability to complicate simplicity.February 3, 2020 at 12:00 pm #9070Goldy

As OB explained. We’ve been running these things since 2011. Essentially The Best Player To Have Not Won An Order Of Merit. Those that perform well…but not well enough to actually win. Based on their average stableford scores in the games they have played.
We have a minimum games played criteria, 15 at the moment. Obviously over almost 10 years, the number that are eligible to win tends to decrease as new winners cross themselves off the eligibility list.
And just to make it amusing, we started listing the Worst player to win, the worst player not to win, the best and worst NAGAs, etc.
Post building, essentially 🙂
