ParticipantNot this weekend though.
What’s your Friday afternoon work schedule like?
Or
Saturday afternoon.
9 or 18?
Where?
I’m out next weekend, the caddie is also an aspiring actress and her performance(s) are on next weekend. Friday out with work.

ParticipantSo finally got a proper game in. Background story – was drinking last night and in bed by 2am so 4 hours of broken sleep.
The glades. Started on 17 and went 5 a 1 after clipping my bunker shot clean over the green into the drink. 18 was a 6 a 2. Then did front 9 for 22 points so all happy days and plan of 3 wood off most tees working despite a couple of 3 putts.
10 and 11 were 2 points apiece but then missed the green with pitches on 12 and 14. On 12 I was in a swale with no real shot at the pin and on 14 I was through the back in a bush. Wiped both and also wiped 16 with hooked driver wet and couldn’t get out of bunker.
So 22 points front 9 and 11 back 9 for 33points.
Still the game plan worked, most shots were good. A few thin and one or two pushed and hooked but zero slices. Just need the second 9 like the first.
Need to work more on putting but it is better. And getting distances better on 60-90m.November 24, 2019 at 8:28 pm #6951Hack2489
ParticipantWhat was your daily handicap at the Glades? Which tees did you play? What was the DSR?I’ll just stalk your GA record.

ParticipantWell, Toph, I reckon the lessons and practice are paying off for you!
You hit some good steady shots for the 6 holes today to be 2 over for 4 holes .. including the birdie on 4.
We won’t mention the post birdie adrenaline rush!

And, hit the flag stick on another chip (first hole) …
But, that’s all irrelevant really.
When are we going to play there again?

ParticipantAs our soon to be
InternationalTrans Tasman golfer, I’d just like to take full credit for showing you what NOT to do.Do everything you did on the back nine today and you’ll be bringing home a new car.
You ARE playing for new car, aren’t you?

ParticipantBugger.
Had it all worked out. Courier the clubs to NZ which was a major headache dealing with customs from OS. Left family ski holiday in Japan early leaving family to get flight to Queenstown for the BMW national final. Couldn’t get a refund on original fare so some expense. Get to Tokyo airport and ……. Air NZ have cancelled the flight ?. Instead they get me to Queenstown at 9.30 half an hour after tee off. So don’t get to play in comp (and not allowed to qualify for 5 years now)
Get rushed to club, put straight in cart and driven to 5 th tee and off we go for a social hit with my group.
Needless to say the combo of no golf for 3 weeks, no warm up, stiff from red eye flight etc means was not a good score.
But some cracking shots and great scenic course. Rough was a good 8 in long even next to greens made it interesting. They are setting up for NZ open.April 19, 2020 at 4:11 pm #11053Toph
ParticipantTime to brush off the cobwebs here.
Past several weeks have been interesting in a Covid kind of way.
Busy return to work, time for a round and a half with Hack, then had to close the clinic, lay off staff and after a week of gardening I’m now a GP in Upper Coomera.
Such is life.
I have continued to go to range a bit and I’ve been practicing chips of some good carpet on the path. Which I think is improving contact.
Last weekend I played Robina Woods. Sprained my back after a few holes and after that hooked and topped everything. Load of shot 102.April 19, 2020 at 4:22 pm #11055Toph
ParticipantToday Colonial.
So much improved so much the same.Putting. 29. Used my old Wilson Staff HT and God it putts so much better for me than my Scotty. Not as soft a feel. Not as sexy a look. Putts better.
Chips are more dependable pitches are too. I’ve a better idea of distance control since I worked out how far every short club goes with a half and 3/4 swing.
Lots a good shots and the draw is there, man.
But utterly fucked up 3 holes due to hooks and pushes into bunkers and water.
Shot 99 if I’m honest. But off my (surely bloated??) cap of 25 would have been 38 points with 3 wipes.
38 points off 15 holes basically.
Just need to remove the wipes….
It’s all improving but it’s hard work.
Oh so hard.

ParticipantFFS, it’s been nearly a week and you haven’t posted about your last round. You can’t STILL be celebrating.
Or
Has it taken a while to recover from the celebratory drinks?
