ParticipantOn the 28th October Sidman started this topic on the other site, 980 pages and 14690 replies it is still up there….. sadly now only covered in cobwebs with the lack of patronage on the site…… so as Boz has some new gear out that some peoples are trying for him and with madam’s blessing it is time to start the review here……
I got 4 x 3 packs of balls to try out for the man….. did the usual bounce on concrete test with balls and picked one to try out….. I am not going to say which one at present as others on here might be part of the trial team and i don’t want to give them any preconceived ideas about any of the balls they have to try out….
On to the 1st tee with new ball…. did the mandatory two practice swing way and of we went….. 1st drive was a Goldy effort…. went higher than it did forward…. fark me this is going to be a long day….. long par 5 from where I was for one…..
Smacked a 4 wood and thought geez that felt good and watched the ball sail off down the fairway, 7 wood onto green and now thinking to myself this ball goes…. good putt, actually really good putt from 20 foot that hit pin and didn’t drop with the new way we have to have pin and hole setup for Covid…. any way I’ll happily take a par from where I was for one….
driving woes continued on front nine with only two decent drives out seven but signed for 22 points, missed 3 or 4 gettable par putts in that …… well that could have been anything one thought.
Back nine started okay until, if you have suffered from vertigo you will feel my pain, one had the threatened vertigo attack that one felt a sign of in the morning and rather than having a tablet decided that he was okay….. fool
17 points on back nine…. putting was interesting with head wanting to spin…..End of day happy to have a good score, though for Barnacles benefit 37 points meant that I got point 1 back and won a golf ball….
New ball great off driver for the ones I actually hit proper like
Off the fairways with fairwood or irons it was an eye opener, great distance and control…. hit a couple of baby draws when required, rest of the time it went straight as…
Small flick chips the ball hasn’t got a grip and stop but in saying that it doesn’t roll out excessively
Off the putter smooth as, might even borrow less than Boz’s usual balls
Would I use it again, shite yes, and so says the PMG who took it out for a nine hole hit and giggle event yesterday….Tomorrow a different ball from the pack, will be interesting to see the difference and if I can remember to bring all my game to the course on one day…..

ParticipantOkay more to the story of testing the new balls……
4 weeks ago I used ball number 2…… At end of round I thought I am not sure about this ball. I had 34 points with it but weather conditions on the day made it hard to judge….. was cool and windy and then to make things more exciting we had a thunderstorm that meant a quick retreat to shelter for 40 minutes and the I was wt the course was wet and the greens had changed in speed….The next week at work was a joe crocker…. EPA rang and said they had an anonymous complaint about Abattoir waste being spilled onto road….. FARK ME…. last person at work went for a drive to try and find site and what spill was….. located scene ….. paunch split out of truck onto road…. Fark me ….. did a basic clean up that afternoon, followed by an attempt the next day that failed and finally on day 3 with help of local volunteer fire brigade got road cleaned up….. involved them wetting road, me sweeping…. EPA happy….. back stiff as…..
Back to golf…. Saturday after the week that was attempted to play golf and re-evaluate ball…. that didn’t work out well…. back gave out and after 9 holes retreated home to heat packs and drugs…..
Monday got to work at 5.00am to find out there was a staff shortage…… bugger….. Had to do wash bay to help out killing fields…. after washing, weighing and pushing 280 squealers back was in a real state…… not happy JanSo as a result the past few weeks of golf has been a case of arm balling the golf ball around……. and then there was yesterday……..

ParticipantYesterday….. checked what trail balls I had in car….. Bugger The Smiling Assassin had Ball 1, the PMG had Ball 3, The creek had Ball 2 so I had Ball 4 to use….. Had been leaving this to last as after conversations with Boz he reckoned this would be the best ball….. So that decision was made….. Back and mind were now in agreement that one could actually pivot during swing so off we went into the unknown…..
Front nine played to my handicap….. did notice that the ball was for some unknown reason attracted to trees….. worked out putting speed and was confident….
Back nine WOW…. 5 pars and 24 points later…… nearly had to handicap myself for an exceptional round…. 42 points for the day, back survived and one was a clear clubhouse leader….
The ball, yep Boz was right it is different to his other balls……
Why you ask
Boz’s balls usually have some roll out on greens, this ball when one hits lob wedge/sand wedge etc well props and stops… doesn’t spin itself stupid like but definitely dances around on landing…… WOW
So after hitting numerous tree’s, all but on two occasions getting away with a par it is a great ball.
Solid of tee, solid of fairways and excels around greens….. it is workable managed to baby draw and fade it as required and once speed control was worked out on greens was given another tick of approval….Next week back to some revaluation of balls used previously,,,, more than happy with what one has to try out for the man and looking forward to the future with other new balls that are in the wings

ParticipantI have a compliant ! The lovely yellow Vision Ball that Bogey Golfer gave me to try is obviously not bright enough for me to find it in the OOB Coboboonee Forest adjacent to the Heywood golf course.
Before that the ball was very good to hit, durable and I scored well with it.

ParticipantPlayed the new Yellow version for 3 holes last Sunday.
nice click off the tee shots, and irons,
greens where we played were soft and bumpy, so its hard to judge a ball short game performance, but lets just say the ball was too good for that type of green.
I ended up playing another 3 holes with a GOKER flower ball perfect ball for those greens. The new trail balls now get 6 weeks virus leave, before the next on course test.
I will be able to evaluate on putting matt in lounge, and 20m chips in back yard.August 7, 2020 at 7:01 am #13042xrman

I have another 11 Vision balls to test ( ProV?) but I am reluctant to use them in case I lose them in the mud. A $2 ball gone forever, submerged under the fairway isn’t so disappointing.1 user liked this post.

ParticipantAnybody heard from Boz lately?
Still working at Elanora and putting up with Barnesy I believe. I think you can still get his Vision range at Golfing Republic.
