ParticipantMetro-gnomes still in full lockdown, new cases around a dozen per day.
I really hope that your all your sake that this doesn’t blow out to a few days of over 60odd cases with punters traveling and spreading the virus. I reckon there’s going to be full state lockdowns if it starts spreading too much.
If only you’d said that a few weeks ago.
But it wouldn’t have made any difference because there’s always fwits out there that don’t give a damn about anyone else.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.

ParticipantComrade Dan is closely following the communist manifesto: invoking a police state, destroying private enterprise making everyone dependent on the government for survival, subsuming any remaining enterprises into government instrumentalities, banning social interaction, jailing dissenters.
It is very 1984 -ish isn’t it. I think it was Churchill ( not a commie) who said,” Never waste a good disaster,” for political gain.
Still now that lock down has been defeated by the virus in N.S.W. it will be interesting if our leaders will step up with the next strategy as an interim measure as we approach the 80% vaccination rate. I am still unsure whether that is 80% of the total population, the adult population,or whether it means 80 % of those offered a vaccination. I am certain that Premiers will all have their own interpretation f that point.Interim measures? If they didn’t think of a strategy for this situation, then why are we paying them?
I can foresee that the more desperate the ” Freedom” marchers become, the more likely that they will arm themselves in self defence against the Police force. Images of the Japanese anti Vietnam marches , with helmets, batons, gas masks, long staves for horses come to my memory. The existence of the groups with non -compliance as a “modus operandi” have torpedoed the lock down in N.S.W. The genie is out of the bottle and will cross State borders in time. Now what?

ParticipantWith this nice sunny weather, I might just wait a bit longer for the grass to dry somewhat and then mow it.
In the meantime, considering that we aren’t allowed out to play, I might watch a movie.
It could be worse, I could be stuck in a quarantine motel room or a high rise commission flat, or with little kids.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

It could be worse, I could be stuck in a quarantine motel room or a high rise commission flat, or with little kids.Lawns hacked back a bit, went for a bicycle ride in the sun but the wind is blowing hard, washing done, now for a movie and some ironing! Restrictions are keeping my grand kids at home a bit more often than is usual,so it is quiet. I have two friends going down hill with cancer, and now our dog too. It is a bit depressing really! I recall my Dad in his 80’s saying their only social outing was attending their friend’s funerals. Not so funny now.
I forgot , I hit 10 ball out of the wet deep grass in my side yard with the 60 degree. One fail and it hit the fence 15 m away with a bang.

ParticipantJungle Cruise wasn’t bad. Being a Disney effort, it was reasonably predictable, but quite entertaining.

ParticipantJust as well we didn’t have Delta variant last year in Victoria. I had visions of Monty Python with the undertaker with his cart. ringing the bell as he shouted ” Bring out your dead”!
On the bright side the courses are drying out after record rains last month. Then again, it is a sunny day and no wind in Portland ( rare) , and we are not allowed to play solo golf. Why?
O.I.L. also dictated last night that grand parents are now limited in access to their grand kids for care purposes. Fuck that! The State will not determine when I will or won’t provide care, if asked to do so by my daughters. Dan just lost the Seniors vote in 12 hours!-

ParticipantI went for a drive today too. The local tip was doing a thriving trade with all the gardening waste being delivered. My 10 by 5 trailer load cost me $2.20. Bugger, I forgot to apply for a permit to look after my grand kids while their mothers ( 2 in one day) went for medical appointments. Oh, that is right, that is an allowable activity. I have been building forts and making treasure maps for the last 2 hours. I need a drink!

ParticipantDont forget to put your mask on when you have a beer or wine, but take it off if you drink lemonade and eating food.
its an interesting process having a glass of wine with chips with friends.have to put mask on to drink wine, then take off to eat a chip, add mask back on again for sip of wine wine, off again for the chips on for wine.
wine filtered through mask taste very differentHey Brett Sutton explain please How does the Rona know to attack wine drinkers but not attack you when you eat food…

ParticipantPretty sure the mask on while drinking alcohol rule was introduced to put a quick end to the take away bevvy pub crawls that sprang up in Richmond a couple of weeks ago when we has a weekend of mint weather.
Don’t let that get in the way of your gotcha moment though Geoff
