Bit of background…
At key times I reflect on how fucking lucky we are … Roof over our heads, food on the table, heck even money for golf and surfboards, boats and “stuff”…
I try to impart a sense of respect and relevance to my caddie. I try to get her to understand the sacrifice others have made for us to have the “free” life we do … And how important it is we keep it (that’s another story).
So, I just played her this song and made her listen to the lyrics. We’ve just discussed what happened, the impact on those who went off to fight, and just how close Australia was to being invaded.
Bit solemn, but, this song makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

You all know the song, but do you really know the lyrics. Sing it loud people, to all the old friends and new, to all the good times passed and those that are yet to come, I raise a glass to all of you and the memories we have and will share in the future. To Auld Lang Syne my friends.
