I think what surprises me most about the forum is the lack of discussion about the playing field, ie the golf course, and the amount (a lot) of discourse about what people scored.
The ISG forum had a specific place for golf course discussion, albeit it wasn’t heavily populated compared to the days/weekend score updates.
Do people care what other people scored? What’s with the obsession with this?
Even more startling is the lack of discussion about tournament/professional golf. Do people care about that at all? We just had the most significant tournament ever held in the country and barely a word.
Do people actually like golf? Or just play it for the score/handicap?3 users liked this post.

If you want to read about their golf, you read the thread. If you don’t…. you don’t. Then we have the others who want to tell you about every game they play, what they scored, how many 1-2-3-4 putts they had etc. WGAF.
If the thread .. The Golf Course is used properly, that could be the avenue you are looking for.
There is generally some banter about Australian tournaments, mind you, not a lot in the scheme of things, with some general stuff on the USPGA stuff, very little on the European Tour. I think the majority on here pay attention to what is happening in the professional golfing world, but the forum chatter is minimal because it is possibly more a personal thing. For me, it is just that unless something out of the box happens, I just figure everybody else has watched and nothing to really write about.
I may be totally wrong, but that is the beauty of a thread like this, feedback is very powerful when it is constructive. Well done Hack…

As for the posting scores, etc. plus the journey threads, I think they have there place. I’m personally more interesting in the improvement and ‘how’ which as you’ll read is more the content of my journal / journey thread.

Not sure why there are 3 different feeds for people to post their scores/how did you play, plus the journey threads in the “practice range”. Perhaps these can all be consolidated into one feed. It amuses me that people post how they played in the “golf course” feed but half dont even say which course they played let alone make any kind of comment on the course.
That lack of joy is also evident – not too many posts say they enjoyed the game or the course etc despite the score.1 user liked this post.

I’ve never found anything nice about wordpress.
There’s plenty of good (& free) forum software out there, but it’s probably too late now.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.

It’s probably just all the graphics. In order to get rid of the unread tag, one has to open the page even if it’s of no interest. That downloads and displays all the picture ads which are also of no interest. Maybe the battery is getting a bit old and losing capacity.
As for suggestions: a ‘mark all as read’ would help.

Every page you turn on this site, there is farking Charlotte Dawson and co…… enough of the repeated threads at the top of every single section of the forum.
Every time you go to a new section you’ve got “page down” to escape the boring old crap that you don’t ever want to read.
Just my thoughts ….
