I certainly share the setiments of others here in saying that golf is a few hours away from the noise that life can throw at you.
I farkin live for weekends and that 5.30am alarm that signals the start of a golf day.

I also keep coming back in the hope that the next round is the one where every aspect of my game fires on the same day. It’s the search for that one perfect round where you can say you were happy with every shot off the tee, every shot through the green and every putt.

Pretty sure I’ll need to be physically active and capable until the age of about 230 before I experience this, but hey, it keeps me coming back.

I play golf cos I’m popular with golfers who want me to join them.
I used to care about my golf game and my equipment and my handicap but not so much now.
It’s more the company. To that I Have made some awesome friends from inter state and local too that will stay with me forever.
    Bless you all.

Ha….you guys are soooooo commited to playing well every time you tee it up. I will NEVER believe that Muzz should play off a handicap higher than mine….and Carson is a “champ” who needs no further explaination. Both champs in my book

•Inaugural Victorian OOM Putting Champion - Long Island 2011
    •Inaugural ... National champ

Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it’s usually something unusual. But now I know why I have always lost women to guys like you. I mean, it’s not just the uniform. It’s the stories that you tell. So much fun and imagination.

I really enjoy the social aspect of the game and getting to play with my son once a week. Other than that, I must have some underlying basic masochistic needs. I mean, what other reason could there be for putting yourself through 4 to 41/2 hrs of mental anguish followed by a further 8 hours of hardly being able to move due to the sore back, knees and calves. Oh and of course there is the ever present opportunity to Drink More Beer!!!!

Are we still taking about golf.

    Yep.
I see where you are coming from you salsa swaggering swordsman. I inadvertently did not mention the word golf in my post due to the heading of the thread. The masochistic part…. well, I am convinced that golf was invented by a Sadist for the sole purpose of satisfying Masochists. Plus, as you well know, I really don’t need any form of reason to have another beer.

Apart from that… HOW THE FARK ARE YA!!!!!!

I am very well beer bru.

I blew out my knee playing football (the proper kind, what you Aussies tend to call Gridiron) when I was 27 and needed to find something else to do. One of my mates had just picked up the game and convinced me to join him. I was very skeptical at first but after the first pure hit at the range I was hooked.

I always expect to play the best round of my life when I step up to the first tee and I can’t understand people that say they play for “exercise”, “social interaction” or other blah reasons. I really don’t care about stableford points and crap like that. The least amount of shots in a round is what counts.

Why do I play golf? Nowadays I cant imagine not.
I never really ‘played’ golf until about 4yrs ago. I was the guy who’d have a hit with a beer..or 12, at a corporate day.
Started to have a regular hack at ‘Royal’ Mackay with a mate. When I got to Brisbane I knew no one, and thought what a good way to meet people and play golf.
I joined Brisbane Fairways, my first game I was in a group with Pigskin. I’m still there to this day and absolutely can’t imagine not playing on a Sunday, or catching up with these guys.
The likes of Panda, Weeti, Pigskin, Sandy..all of whom you know, and all will be again kicking ass at Nats 2020.
