ParticipantMM round at Cabo, short sharp storm 5 holes in, and then ?storm continues with the putter. 96/73, 34 putts, took original one mini driver today and let out a few ripper drives. Short game worked pretty well which is surprising. Losing distance with irons, so will try the new Srixon ‘5’ irons soon. Still floating round the 22 handicap

ParticipantWe use the app at our club, I think it is quite simple, you can preset your phones screen lock time, so that’s not an issue, if I’m in a cart, it’s in the drinks holder…. always within reach. Phone still has battery life left at end of day.
Love the live leaderboard aspect also. We use it to gps the hole locations during setup. Much rather use this than the card… always searching for it. Oh I’m above 50 years of age and adaptable to change, if that helps.
There are others in our membership that don’t own mobile phones, but still use gps machines for distance reasons, so for me it’s same sameAhBen

Participantdoes anyone know if green keepers are still allowed to work at the greater Melbourne contaminated zone courses..
green keeping is not really really essential service, and I know last time, clubs had to battle to retain the courses.
not mentioned anywhere, but then again haven’t heard clubs screaming.Advise we are being given is a conditional yes, it appears that a skeleton staff can work to maintain the course to a level, but not the full staff.
We were essential staff, Up here in qld originally, but I guess if they are shutting life down in Victoria, then, we aren’t…. it’s only turf anyway, We are trained to deal with abnormal growth patterns. I just applied growth regulators to everything when the shit first hit the fan in March

ParticipantWas at Caboolture today and they were scarifying the greens during our journey round the course. It is looking mint though and greens were
rolling just as good prior to the damage the greenkeepers were doing!!Played Caboolture today. Turfers has done a great job maintaining the course through rain and drought. The greens are excellent.
They have preferred lie in place but it’s not really necessary.
I had 41 for 18 and 42 for 17 for 35 all up – took my handicap down 0.3 to 11.1
Played with Weeti today at Caboolture. 25 points off 14.
9 points on the front but only 2 wipes. Just always seemed to have 1 shot too many. Tidied it up on the back with 44/16.
