Another top day for the PJ memorial game. No pissing rain, so this time he threw a curve ball and decided to have us melt in the heat! Sneaky bastard looking down on us, the only pissing would be his laughter.

8 L4G members and 4 visitors took the fairways of Castle Hill Country Club for this years event. The day started around 9.30am for some, who ventured to Schmucks wonderful cafe (Marcellinos) for a pre game Coffee and a scrumptious Bacon/Sausage & Egg Roll. If you haven’t been there…in the words of Molly Meldrum…do yourself a favour!

As per usual we were joined by Mrs Chook Norris (Chris) for the day, which started with the traditional remembrance ceremony and downing of the shot of either Jim Beam, Butterscotch Schnapps or Port.

Chris followed the groups in her own flow through ventilated cart, graciously suppled by CHCC. Play got underway and many of the very tall trees on the course felt our wrath 🙂 In the end there were two players slugging it out for the trophy, Snorkelguru coming through for the win by the solitary point, shooting 2 over par on the 2nd nine holes.

Following the game we all headed back to Schmucks cafe for a magnificent feast of Pizza, Pasta, Schnitzel & Hot Chips. Wine was flowing courtesy of Birdie Killer and Commish, along with bottles donated by Schmucks mate Dave…these went out to the top 3 place getters.

A few thank yous: Thank you to all who turned up to play this annual event. Currently we are sitting at $600 for Beyond Blue. Thank you to Schmuck, Dave V and Jeff F for the game today, very much enjoyable playing in this group. I don’t think I can remember ever being that shagged after a game of golf. Thank you to Chris for taking the time to watch us chop it around the course and for supplying yet another outstanding cake to celebrate PJ’s birthday.

My biggest thanks are reserved for Schmuck and his staff at Marcellinos…one of whom stayed back after her shift to assist with the food preparation and refused to be compensated for it. It was a very generous gesture and didn’t go un-noticed.

Hi Chris…and all,

Sorry I missed this…the end of last year was a blur for me, tied up in sorting out dad’s estate and clearing out his unit. I must admit I had overlooked the payment to charity.

The original PJ donation page was not able to be accessed but it has been done, $685.00 to Beyond Blue, in memory of PJ.
