Just one of those days where nearly everything went perfect.

ParticipantSo who’s the boss man now and when’s the next game?
You… and as soon as you get one organised.
My course is still underwater and closed… was hoping the new boss could find me a game 🙂
Yeah mine too. Course open on a couple of days then closed again. No carts on the days it was open, so that ruled me out. Not likely to be hitting it around for at least another 2 weeks with the current forecast rain.

ParticipantHave you seen any koalas at Heywood? That’s all I remember from the round I had there…
Yep, they are on the third shelf, left hand side as you walk into the Pro Shop in the ‘Australian Souvenir’ section.

ParticipantI’m sure cane toads won’t worry about the weather, but I certainly hope all our Qld brethren are safe and dry. Unbelievable how much rain you guys have had in the past 2 weeks.
And another huge cell went through Sunday!
Yep… and we copped it today.

ParticipantIf we are Covid guest groups clear then I’m pretty confident of a positive outcome…oops that sounds bad! 😛
By mid year, Covid will be the new flu. All systems go…
Ha….the numbers will be 50k plus by then
Possibly, but as we went from Delta strain to Omicron strain, ( a lot of letters in the Greek Alphabet between those two) hopefully by then we will be at Omega strain and leading a normal ( what is normal anymore) sort of life.
So far so good Commish!
NOTICE:
Oct Nationals registration will open at end of the month once I can reconfirm rates, bookings and accom options.
As an unexpected guest at the Middies would say…”You’ve got this”

ParticipantOldies’ nine hole at Warra yesterday. 19 points
Yellow tee stab at Warra today: playing h’cap of 6 in lieu of 18.
So much easier to get a green in reg !!
Front nine: 1 bogey, 2 birdies, 6 pars: that’s 1 under par and 22 points with 16 putts (three 3-putts and a chip-in).
Back nine: only 3 pars, bogeys on the other 6 holes, only two 1-putts = 16 putts, 15 points.
Daily total 37 points.Interesting exercise. If I could hit my drives 100m longer, I could readily play to 6.
not a matter of hitting it 100m further .
On contrary, what you have done is exactly how handicap golfers should approach the game and its what the international handicap system allows you to do.
.
ie find the best tee for your playing ability.
in other words play of the yellow tees every week until you can break 80, then move back to red, until break 80, then move back to white , then the blues.Playing off 6 and off the yellows, it was easy to break 80.
I’d need to wear a skirt if I played off the reds.
So, whites it is.
I’ll never get that 100m longer, it’s just wishful thinking.Time to change your attitude OB, there are no longer men’s and women’s tees, just different colours to play from and enjoy the game.
These guidelines are based on golfers’ average driving distance.
So find your driving distance, then see what yardage that USGA recommend for golfers.
Avg. drive recommended: Tees 300 yards, 7150 – 7400 yards;
275 yards 6700 – 6900 yards;
250 yards 6200 – 6400 yards;
225 yards 5800 – 6000 yards;
200 yards 5200 – 5400 yards;
175 yards 4400 – 4600 yards;
150 yards 3500 – 3700 yards;
125 yards 2800 – 3000 yards;
100 yards 2100 – 2300 yards.So play it forward to the tees that match your game.
Have fun and enjoy the game.
Is there an 18 hole course ANYWHERE!!!! that is less than 4000M???? And I don’t mean a full Par 3 course. That is not a golf course. .
Greens in reg are mostly out of range. Far too often it takes me par just to get on the green, then I need a 1-putt.
I meant, GIR with handicap. Basically, Bogey golf, but not so old. Surely you can reach at least 8 of the 18 in reg?

ParticipantSeems you should focus more on GIR, then 36 putts would be fine. Oh wait, that;s me..??
