Hitting from mud is an art that I seem to lack. Is there a tip that will solve my problem?

If you are hitting the ball before you make contact with the ground, does it really matter if it is muddy or not?? Not really something I am very adept at, but heh, you asked.

I’ll look after thur – sun accom as part of the package booking. Anything else will be up to the player. Gets more complicated

Unless there is a new variant of Covid that is even worse than this current strain, I doubt NSW will lock down again post 80% vaccination. Love it or hate it, gotta learn to live with it. A variant on what my wife says about me..

I think Vic and NSW will be fine for this- us Qld pffft not thinking likely ~

I think even Queen Palace Chook will have softened her stance by then.

Do you and Zooey need Thu-Sun accom or over to Monday?

Not sure, but will probably head back on the Sunday same as everyone else. I guess I better get around to asking him if he is a going or not.?

Sure. Not sure anyone suggests they are anything more than opinion, particularly since the sample size in terms of raters is relatively low.
The rankings are a discussion starter, a good marketing tool for clubs, courses and architects and a way to learn about new places to play.
Not sure I agree that pros and scratch markers should have sole domain. Golf courses are for all and most are probably too short for pros these days. The classic courses were designed for the distances in their day, which are now close to how far the average player hits it with the newer technology equipment.
And the newer daily fee courses need the cash so keep their options open.
A good test of a course in my view is whether it’s playable and enjoyable for the average player. Not the same as easy.

Your last sentence makes the most sense of all the conversation on this topic. Being able to enjoy the layout of the course, the aesthetics of the course and enjoying a course for the majority, not just the elite 5% is very important in how a course is rated. i dare say half of the courses in the list are not able to be accessed by Mr Joe Public.

not sure on that, Qld will need to get through what you all are going through with living with covid in the community first.

It will be a slow reopening.

Hopefully your current small cluster outbreaks will stay just that.

Great memories Chris, even though I didn’t make the first couple, it was always good to see the pics that were posted. I must say though, that day at Carnarvon was a real test of the golfing mettle, but obviously well worth it, as was the Korean feast post round. I am also proud to state that I have managed to maintain the P.J. shape, if not more so as is evidenced by the photo of his 40th at RO. No gold, no gym, no ability to walk an distance doesn’t help, but I will still blame that BLUDDY COVID LOCKDOWN CRAP..

Hope you are well and keeping safe.. Don’t speak, but think of you and PJ often.

You play golf like me, just 100m longer on most shots.

Especially some greenside bunker shots …
But what an honour it is to be compared to you, for anything – be that for good or the really good.

Bunkers….at least you get out of them. They normally have to order more sand in after I’m finished. As for the honour of comparison in not knowing at ANY stage where I am going to hit the ball.. you are very easily pleased my friend.

Played at Pacific with Brisbane Fairways off 6.
    Had 28 points.
Sometimes it’s fun when you have no idea where the ball will go when you’re addressing it.
Had an absolute blast playing with Rusty Old Man as a Father’s Day gig.

Highlight was a temporary par 4, playing about 245. The green was tucked on the left hand side behind a series of big trees. One bloke tees off with his 3 wood and perfectly slings it around the trees to be about 20 short of the fringe.
I smashed my 3 wood, it started a touch right of the line I wanted and didn’t draw. It clattered into a huge tree, maybe 6m up and dropped back and right. Turns out that tree was pin high and if it didn’t hit the tree it was proper dead. Easy chip up and two putt par.

I did have a run of 5 pars on the second nine, but there is still doubles that come from not knowing where the ball will go.

    Good times.

You play golf like me, just 100m longer on most shots. ??‍♂️

Sounds like we should plan to meet at Howlong Dave?

I like it when a plan comes together.
