ParticipantSLGC Stabford 37 At last a day of two half’s 20 out and 17 in.
So many missed opportunities left a sour taste on a good day.
Felt like I struck the ball well, sometimes but silly mistakes held me back.
Not sure if we can play again but hope we can at least walk the course if no comp.
Stay safe
At least six more months to goDavidM
ParticipantSLGC 32pts Yet another game where it felt good then fell in a hole. Par three holes in a row, then Scrub, 0ne, Scrub.
I feel like i’m almost there but just can’t make it all the way round in good nick.DavidM
ParticipantSLGC 37pts. just missed so many puts… or chips .. or drives..
felt like it could have been a really good day
instead it was just a fun day on the course with good friends and a good score !!DavidM
ParticipantMixed bag for the last month, lots of scores around the 30pt. Seems I can only play golf for half a round.. either first or last, it don’t seem to matter.
Stroke on Saturday at SLGC, same again, started slow but came home well to end with 89, less my generous handicap to give me Par for the course, 70, beaten on count back in B grade, second place.
Best result in awhile.1 user liked this post.

ParticipantLet me introduce myself first. Took up golf at 60, five years later I’m down to 17.4, slow learner.
Started work at 16 in an Abattoir, stayed 8 years and made some good money, all of which I wasted. Then drove a taxi for 6 years full time (then another 6 years part time), moved up to Buses where I continued for the next 36 years. Currently unemployed and not looking for work, will have to soon, money getting tight. The lack of a Job has helped my golf game a great deal.DavidM
ParticipantSLGC Goolwa SA. Off 18, Strong winds (35-45 km plus gusts). 29 pts. Worked hard to keep the drives low into the wind, worked a few times, hard not getting blown off the fairways, mishit too many short chips. Enjoyed the company and the challenge. Happy to play.

ParticipantI was one of the “Bandits” one day.
Had being playing golf for 9 months (60 Years old), took the next four months off to surf and sail, came back in late February and played my first comp, had only a few balls on the practice range since my last comp.
Handicap still 36
Had 52 points with one wipe.
felt like I could not do a thing wrong.
Five years later I’m down to 18
I enjoy golf but i’m not good at it.1 user liked this post.

ParticipantSouth Lakes GC Goolwa SA (the end of the Murray River) https://www.southlakesgolf.com.au/
A short Flat track, with a lot of risk and reward. Small raised greens with steep side banks on many, mean if you miss the approach shot by just a squeak, you are punished with a bounce off into the rough.
Not the toughest course in the area but it’s a short walk down the road for me and where I play mostly.

ParticipantHi, well let me introduce Myself..
David, Live far south of Adelaide, walk down the street to play at SLGC.
Currently playing off 18.9, Not working for now so hope to improve that a bit.
Love the internet for the information and tips
Hate the internet for the Trolls and personal attacks on othersFor the reason above, You won’t hear from me very often but I read a lot.
Let’s all play fair and maybe I will contribute as my skill improves…
DavidHey David, welcome aboard the good ship
Goldy popgolf a lot…Can’t say there’s too many trolls around here, but there are some short ugly looking fellas by all accounts (I’m still learning from the inside jokes and innuendo) …
A lot of the regulars know each other IRL so there’s a bit of sledging and inside jokes. Take it as in good humour rather than as might appear nasty bitchiness.
Tell us more about your golfing exploits etc. Maybe start a journal / journey thread? Or, write up your recent rounds when you play in the “How’d you play this week” thread. And, what’s in your golf gear set up at the moment? Check out the proshop thread on that topic …
The more content to read the better to keep everyone amused at work. I’m convinced none of them work!
Thanks and yes I recognize most of the “in jokes” and Banter, nothing better
I will take your advice and start somethingDavidM
