Old Bogey
BlockedAfter feeling very dusty from drinking as much as I did, I obviously drove to the course anyway. Round 2 (actually became rnd 1 when the original rnd 1 was cancelled last week due to very inclement weather) of clubbies today. Top 8 in each grade goes into playoffs. It was also MM.
I was a mile down the list for medal when I looked, but it seems I’m into the C grade playoffs with a 94 gross (nett 75).
It does make it a lot easier being against the choppers.
So, another round of golf tomorrow. Nearly every day. Also booked in for Mon and Tues.
Hopefully I’ll get a patch of good luck, I think I have earned itInteresting that some peanut has transcribed my post from ISG and added his own ‘flavour’ to what I posted.
So, just be aware that the real OB is OldBogey, not the peanut calling himself Old Bogey.I’d bet it’s Max but I have no proof, yet.
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, but seriously what is the point of trying to be me on the internet.
You are a sad man, Max just give it up. It’s too obvious

BlockedGuess who’s back, back again!!
Bump is backI organised a networking game with some of the punters at work. Two groups of three dropped to a group of five when one bloke went down with heat stroke half way around.
I had a 73, really happy with how I was hitting it considering 29 July was the last time I picked up the clubs.
My short game touch wasn’t there, plenty of missed putts and a couple of duffed chips or just bashing the chip well past on the slow greens, but I’m not too worried as I fully expected that. I was pleased that I was able to play with my boss and hopefully impressed him a bit.I do love Ink’s head, it felt really nice and rewarding.
Now on to one of my favourite courses in Glades Sunday week with Rusty Old Man, then my favourite course with my favourite (non-Dad) group at RQ.
73 net is a pretty good score after that little break, for you.

BlockedI have been drinking my way through this afternoon and realised, I am not very good at golf.
Stab at Trafalgar today.
An God awful front nine with a heap of wipes, driver was good but nothing else. 8 points
Back nine was better with six 1-putts but also a 3-putt. Far more consistent. 17 points
Total of 25 points.
Monthly medal and club champs tomorrow. I’d better get my act together, even though I am taking up the spot of someone who wants to play well I will play anyway.
Maybe being as hungover as I expect to be will mean I play betterOld Bogey

Can’t you afford newer clubs?
It’s probably because you’re a family man now.Even my clubs are newer than you’re yours and I am just a poor pensioner.

BlockedStab at Warra today.
Good front nine including a 4-point birdie, six 1-putts, but also a 3-putt and turned on 21 points.
Back nine started with another 3-putt. But had two wipes, some 1-points and only two more 1-putts. 12 points.
I put it down to fitness and my lack thereof and I admit that I lost my cool at one point on the 12th when my cooler holding the 4 beers I had for the back nine tipped out of the cart when I was racing across around the green which took me a few holes to regain composure.
A total of 33 is not what it could have been1 user liked this post.

BlockedReally pissing me off that I can’t post in the ISG thread because the Elanora thread isn’t here. But, it’s good to see that Peppas is still asking inane question, apart from food of course AND I really want to see Della in tap dancing mode cause that means wearing short skirts and clicking heels. “I want to go home Toto.”

I know that you lot don’t get to play as much as me and that ‘sucks to be you’

BlockedStroke at Warra today, I’m glad it wasn’t stroke yesterday or otherwise I’d still be out there.
A slow start with 6,7,6 (par 4s) including 3-putts on 2nd and 3rd. Settled a bit after that with no more 3-putts for the day and nine 1-putts.
Back nine started with four 1-putt pars, lipped out on the 14th for a bogey, another par on 15, bogey on 16, then blew it all apart with an 8 on the 17th.
Talking of buggared holes, on the par5 8th I managed multiple hits on ‘furniture’ (rubbish bin, seat, etc) and trees, all with rebounds, to finally get on the green for 8, then 1-putted for a 9 there.
The cart does need an extraneous top-up for all the petrol I used driving all over the course
52 out and 42 back in for a nett 76. A chalk and cheese day.1 user liked this post.

BlockedI will update my last two games now because I had a nap after getting home yesterday and didn’t tell you how I played
Stab at Traralgon yesterday with the Old Vets, some of these codgers make me feel young, especially the way they look so tired from walking the course
Despite my drives, although not long at all were all fairly straight all day, I otherwise played atrocious golf.
Started on the 13th and after those 6 holes I had amassed two 1-point scores and wiped the rest. Front nine was a bit better with a couple of 3-point pars and 15 points. Returning to the back nine for the last 3 holes was just another 3 points. Total for the day was thus 20 points. Drained a couple of long putts but many just missed / turned away / stopped short. I farked around so much just getting to greens that I often had to 1-putt for a point but failed. I also had trouble getting out of bunkers (mostly just lack of skill and determination to practice). I bladed wedges too many times and just failed miserably.
Nevertheless, it was a great summer’s day, around 30°, the course was well prepared, greens were excellent and the problems with bunkers were due to the substantial rain we’d had. Enjoyed the drinks afterwards

BlockedAs the thread title rightly states …. Hit some crackers and just need to keep it together for 18.
